Worth listening to several times over

Pamela and Jeff have been more than helpful with their vulnerability and wisdom for first-timers like me. I’ve gone back to episodes for repeat listening. I’m going through my process of writing & publishing my first book. I recently re-listened to the one on structure and got more clarity. Many times I’ve said, “Oh, yes. Now I remember. . .” and it’s moved me forward. This podcast is a staple on my phone even after my book is launched. Thanks Pam & Jeff. What a gift!

Five stars from me

I’m a little late to the party given that it’s Feb 2018, but I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. While my interests are on producing fictional works, I enjoyed this all the same. I will definitely listen to any other episodes you produce throughout the journey of authorship and publication.

Great companions on a scary journey

I’m on the book writing journey myself - well past zero but a long way from book. I’ve enjoyed Jeff’s other podcast, The Portfolio Life, and his book You Are A Writer, was helpful. A friend and fellow tyro author tipped me off to this podcast; I started with episode 1 and have been diligently following step by step. Just listened to the May 31 episode with Chantel Hamilton, which was super informative, and finally decided it was time to take a moment and leave these folks the five-star review they deserve to help others find this informative and enjoyable resource.

Finally! A Guilt Free Way to Put Off Writing for Half-an-Hour!

This is the perfect companion podcast for anybody writing a first book — as I have been, on-and-off for….ever (though in my case what that first book IS keeps changing, so technically maybe I’m working on my 20th book). There are several things I love about the show. First, unlike so many podcasts, the conversation here does not sound staged and fake. Sure, the hosts get together with a pre-set agenda, and you WANT them to otherwise they’d just be wasting everybody’s time, but despite the agenda you really do feel that they are having a genuine intelligent conversation on that week’s topic and you just happen to get to listen-in.Second, Pam and Jeff keep talking about exactly what I’m thinking about, so there are definitely some “universal truths” for authors to be had here. For example, Jeff started talking about the tension between occasionally recognizing the need to change course on a project, versus the wisdom of not completely blowing-up the existing work and starting over every month — you have to find the balance. Who hasn’t struggled with THAT and wondered whether they were the only one?Third, it provides a very justifiable avenue for passive procrastination. Hey, you’re GOING to slack off and procrastinate anyway (I’m talking to myself here), so you might as well do it while taking in some inspiration and information about the very thing that you don’t have the energy to get to right now — writing your book. It’s guilt free!I also like the hosts — low key but not low energy.Keep up the good work Pam and Jeff.
