Love this podcast

The episode about living a smaller life and dreaming a bigger dream made me cry - out of happiness and relief because I feel I already know what I need to do, but also out of sadness that I haven’t started earlier. Thank you ❤️

Let’s get back to the start!

I use to love listening to this podcast every week and would never miss an episode but I can’t say I’ve done that in a while now. I loved the insightful and thought out podcasts at the beginning and love when she has guests on. The show seems to have morphed into this weird thing about venting and just her own problems and I can’t stand to listen to them, a lot of them are just such first world issues it can be hard to sit and hear constantly. I’ve got my own issues, like others, with her having medical medium on because he’s a quack with zero evidence just praying on sick people and their ailments. Seriously. If you believe in that stuff PLEASE look deeper and do your own research. Idk where the golden content went but I’d love to have it back because it was truly special! 💜

A little sexist and anti feminist

I like a lot of what Rachel does and some of her podcasts have been great, but there is so many instances where she goes against feminism. No one ever wonders how men have “done it all“ for years, they are dads while working full time etc, yet she thinks that we as women should feel the need to feel “overwhelmed” even though men are fully equally responsible in the equation of having a family and parenting. Instead of sharing it from that perspective, and making men fully responsible for parenting, just like mothers, she acts as though there should be a difference and moms should do more. And so what if a woman wants to have a kid, than just focus on work while the dad takes care of it? Aka just like men have done for so long. She likes the “idea” of feminism but not the actually work it takes to create the change we need. “I don’t know any girl friends that are stay at home moms” do you know any guy friends that are? Probably not. it’s completely okay to not be a feminist but it was a little bit harsh to hear the last podcast and not share this with you, I really hope you can see that I don’t mean this as a form of attack but rather (hopefully) helpful honest feedback.

Well...

I keep trying but it’s all so repetitive. How can one person talk for so long with no one on the other side of the conversation? It’s wild. A true soapbox.

Completely Contradictory and Self-Centered

Within almost the same week, she talked about having a day of no complaining on the Yoga Girl Daily podcast and then justifies reasons why it’s okay to complain on the Conversations from the Heart podcast. I used to love this podcast and I still tune in to check it out, but all I hear are complaints about experiencing emotions that we all face every day. That is life. Exhausted when you’re working, sad when the teaching training ends and you’re not working, talking about how you work too much, but then how it’s so hard to slow down. Over the years, you constantly talk about how you haven’t been on a real vacation in forever, but you have the privilege of traveling the world. Every single podcast is a self-absorbed disaster. Here’s to hoping you decide to have some more guests on soon so that it’s not always ALL about you.

Eh.

While she does make some great points that are helpful for a daily maintenance perspective, she is like every other podcaster/self-help guru that only talks about themselves and their “problems” that are ridiculous, first-world problems. I just listened to her talk about how scared she is of her book release/tour, is that a problem???? There are people starving, homeless, diseased, and THOSE are problems. Not some rich yogi complaining about her book not making New York Times Beat Seller List.

Failure episode

So many aha moments for me in this one! One thing I realized is that it’s not in the failure but the need to always be perfect and succeed. Trauma response is what feel, it’s all a trauma response and being aware of what triggers our trauma. Thank you 🙏🏼

Went downhill...

Used to love this podcast and took in some great advice. Lately has been draining. She completely lost me when she talked for almost an hour about her anxiety from her massively successful book tour. You have a beautiful, healthy daughter, wonderful husband, and are a beautiful wonderful girl yourself! Rejoice!

Missing how it was

I really used to LOVE this podcast. I miss the great guests and the thought-provoking and educational topics. I became a bit disenchanted after all the talk about her baby (I don’t have one, so can’t relate)! Would totally listen again if it went back to how it was the first year or so with guests and amazing topics like cultural appropriation in yoga.

Spiritual materialism.

Clearly doesn’t do the (inner, personal, ongoing) work herself. Great at expressing her ego.

Astrology reference turned me off

I listened to a couple episodes and tried hard to like her but couldn’t relate. Biggest problem was when she talked about consulting astrology when she needs answers. Immediately turned off the episode and unsubscribed.

Podcast Perfection

Listening to this podcast brightens my day. Rachel is relatable on so many levels, I always find myself saying “wow that’s exactly what I think...” or “that’s how I felt about....”. I have been following her page for about 6 years now and this podcast just puts the cherry on top for everything I love about her. Thank you, Yoga Girl, for continuing to inspire me while making my mornings a little brighter.

Thank you for this amazing podcast

Love this episode talking about your worth is not reflected in what you do or accomplish, but it’s in who you are!!! Resonated so strongly and just wanna share that we all need this reminder because we get so distracted by having to do sooo much to prove our worth, when I reality our worth is ALWAYS there in us ❤️

Favorite Podcast

I love Rachel Brathen. I first found her book Yoga Girl which inspired me to deepen both my yoga practice and my spirituality. The way that she speaks about life is so simple yet so true. It’s not always rainbows and butterflies and if anyone knows that it’s Rachel, and yet she always overcomes her adversities and beautiful things come out of it. Her podcast speaks to that and I just love listening and relating and continuing to be inspired!!!!! Also, I just finished her book “to love and let go” and I’m not kidding I could NOT put it down. Seriously amazing. I connected with her so deeply and shed many tears. Thanks for inspiring me every day in so many ways, Yoga Girl.

Medical medium is a fraud, but bring more guests

I love the podcast, from the first episode to this most recent one. But I think it is inappropriate that the medical medium was given such a big platform when you have so many vulnerable followers seeking help.Bring back guests, though! Like, in general. It’s been so many solo podcasts lately. You usually have wonderful guests when you invite them one.

Don’t understand the negative reviews

I recently found this podcast and find it amazing. I have listened to both old and new podcasts and think she is still providing good quality content. I think the people leaving negative reviews are not being patient with the new podcasts. In her new ones she does talk more about her personal life and her transitions with motherhood but she always seems to be pulling insight from her experiences. In her older ones she is a bit more spiritual and to the point. But I think the new ones are just as great and more practical. Keep up the good work Rachel. Love listening to you.
