reviewed: What We Said
Please be more reflective
I really wanted to genuinely love this podcast. The first couple episodes I listened to, I actually enjoyed even though at times I knew something felt a bit off. As I continued to listen to more episodes, I began to become saddened and disappointed. What is sad to me is that these girls try to sell this idea of being enlightened and try to come off as understanding the real issues that are deeply engrained in our society right now but when you truly listen you can tell it is a very surfaced level understanding. You can tell that there was no real reflection and self-education. This is very apparent in the seemingly "politically correct" comments you try to make where you can tell it is only said to keep a specific population of listeners. When really, there are subtle comments that are often made where it shows clearly how you truly view the world around you.
Also, the whole approach to your concept of "everyone's reality is different" does NOT give you an excuse to be out of touch with the fact that the issues arising in our culture right now negatively impact SO many individuals. Instead of thinking of ways to create change, think of the contributing to the lives of others etc. you seem like you just live in an inward/self absorbed reality that is steeped in privilege. This is not a political opinion. I am neither extreme in liberalism or conservatism, and I am a person of Faith. This is a human opinion. To truly love and serve God means to put others (not just those you personally know), before yourself and think about the well-being of humanity no matter what race, political, or religious background they come from. You girls have a wonderful blessing with this opportunity to spread any message you want through your platform. Please use it with more compassion, education, heart and humility.
