Very good research into history of mental health

Being a nurse I was instantly hooked. And having a true love of history, it was perfect having both in one podcast. I could do without the political punches. My listening time is relaxing time, I can go on twitter to hear political bashing. Your research on mental health is very good, and your presentation is great. Keep up the good work.

Loved the podcast until the episode about Trump.

Deleted. Gaslighting using Trump as example? Really!! About half the country would disagree and say that was way over the top. Bye bye.

Interesting but...

This podcast series has potential; but the sound quality is horrendous and the orator veers off point.Often it sounds as though she is literally “eating” the microphone making it difficult to follow and thoughtfully enjoy the topics presented. Additionally, while I have yet to complete all of the currently available shows, already I find myself “put-off” by the frequent self serving deviations from the storyline made by the commentator. Her randomly dramatized reflections feel awkward and detract from the subject(s) of podcasts. To which I shall apologize in advance for the following; please choose one format...either to share the stories of others or to share yours.

So good

I’ve always been obsessed with exploring old asylums and looking through paperwork left behind and finding history on such places. This show is so up my alley. Keep up the amazing job!

Really good podcast

Well done, good quality audio. Not really my thing, and it’s kinda missing the “hook” to grab me and make me a fan. But it’s great if you’re interested in the history of mental health.

Fascinating

I’m a firm believer in therapy for mental health but some of these cases are heartbreaking and infuriating. So thankful the field has improved! Very interesting podcast!

One of the very best!

This podcast does not trivialize or sensationalize mental illness. In a most captivating way Rachel educates her audience by presenting well researched and well presented stories of real people suffering from mental illness. This is one of the best of the best!

Absolutely fantastic

I recently discovered this podcast, and, though I’m only three episodes in, I’m quite impressed by the quality of research for each episode - especially with the treatment of mental illnesses in minority communities.

We're All Mad Here

An interesting take on mental illness. includes deep discussions about the history, treatments and nature of mental illness. What makes this podcast compelling to me is that it is about real people and how they deal with mental illness. The person with the illness is treated with respect, consideration and seen as a human being with feelings and needs like anyone else.

A well balanced, much needed conversation

This podcast provides a balanced, well thought out and calm conversation covering what is oftentimes inflammatory topics. The host Geneva, asks the questions in such a way that allows the guests to answer such that they're views are fully heard and not lead by the interview.
