Tamara is a tremendous host and is bringing important stories to our phones every single day. They obviously have a great team behind the scenes too. A lot of broadcasters have launched podcasts like this, but none of them are on Wait, There’s More’s level. They seriously find the best guests to talk on each subject. Tamara is well-researched and asks the right questions. I hope Global commits to allowing this podcast be what it can be. It really leads the pack and I recommend it to anyone who will listen. 5/5.
I started listening and it didn’t take long for me to pick up on how divisive the host is. Everything is about race to her, nothing seems to escape this. Also she leans heavy to the left and is unwilling to have the other side on, I would like to hear the CCFR on firearms issues as well as her favourites to say how firearms cause “femicide”. After her recent episode about how cooking is racist and about skin colour, I have chosen to unsubscribe. I don’t enjoy being insulted constantly!
I love listening to the NYT’s “The Daily” but wanted more than just US & global news. So delighted to have another show with a similar format broadcasting from Canadian soil that provides relevant content with informed, measured and openminded points of view.
I quite enjoy the topics discussed. However I find the host not very good. I’m really trying to look past the monotone, disinterested approach she has; sounds like she’s reading off a piece of paper. I’ll keep listening because it’s short & sweet and brings relevant and intriguing topics.
I get that this is the hot topic right now, but there are plenty of other things happening out there. There are also plenty of covid-specific daily podcasts out there, but this isn’t/shouldn’t be one of them. Let’s talk about something new.
One of most bigoted and ignorant podcasts out there
In just about every episode they make some bigoted anti-American comment. Oftentimes, it doesn’t even relate to the story, it’s just a random ignorant comment. And its usually not even true, it’s something a drunk person would say sitting in a bar spouting off ignorant crap. The final straw was an episode where the guest was going off on how requiring people with HIV to disclose their status to a sexual partner when the possibility to transmission was likely was somehow discriminatory. He then launches into a whole “stop snitching” diatribe, like what gangs do to interfere with criminal prosecutions. It’s completely absurd. The shows are poorly researched and always involves a bunch of conjecture. They rely on guests so they can make absurd statements and not even attempt to verify them. The show is completely lacking in journalistic integrity.
Although the contents are great and I appreciate how you choose your guest to be experts and not politician like many other podcast related to current affairs, the continuous background music over the actual discussion of the topics is incredibly tacky and distracting. I understand the sentimental values of the “podcast groovy beats and funky melodies” here and there to make a podcast what it is. But too much of it makes the content rather less meaningful and somewhat abstract. Kindly consider this.
Disappointed at the untruths spoken about in the death of a beautiful Quebec woman because a man had “sexual needs”. The pro-legalization guest spewed untruths about the sex industry, unchallenged. Opinion, NOT fact! Human trafficking is oermeating our society, preying on our children and the approach of this episode pretends that either it doesn’t exist or that it is a good thing! And all for what? To satisfy the sexual needs of men? Does anyone consider the needs of women? Like equal opportunity in workplaces, equal opportunity for education and just equality in general?
Finally, a strong Canadian news podcast that’s not too long, too biased, too boring, too unprofessional... I could go on and on. Love this host, love the deep analysis on news stories, love the guests.
