Lovely

So accessible and accepting. Somehow much better sound quality than the Fullcast? Emily and Jason are so inclusive and genuine, it's a great listen. Makes me want to go listen to some MxPx and Reliant K.

Highly recommended

As someone who considers themselves to be agnostic, I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough. Believer or not, the Bible is interesting! And Jason and Emily do a great of job of being respectful, warm, funny, and thoughtful about it all.

This really good!

Listened to our 2nd episode tonight and this is so interesting. An entertaining and fascinating perspective on stories I thought I knew. I appreciate the variety of backgrounds and the openness to different beliefs and traditions. I am a Christian but I think this would be something enjoyed by anyone of any faith (or non-faith). Thanks for doing this!

It’s a long way down to the holiday bowl

I’m so happy to have Jason back, and he and Emily are really creating magic here. I can’t wait until they get to the part of Deuteronomy when Bobby Petrino makes his first appearance.

Psalmdown Faithcast

Would never have thought the Shutdown Fullcast ethos could apply so well to Bible analysis, but given the crazed devotion of most college football fans maybe that actually makes the most sense in the world?

Very Good Podcast, Needs more Star Wars.

Given that Star Wars was the source material for the Bible, I’d think that the occasional nod to the original text would be appropriate. Admiral Thrawn didn’t reluctantly serve Palpatine for so long to be treated this way by so-called “believers.”

And it was good!

Stumbled over here from the Fullcast(😢)Not a religious person now but was raised catholic-ish, always very interested in theology and The VBS podcast is everything i love. Never disrespectful but a real modern and hilarious look at the Bible stories most of us grew up on. Listened and re-listened to the first 2 episodes and will continue to share and support. Thanks to pastor Jason and pastor Emily. Blessings on blessings on blessings. Side note, the intro kinda slaps, can we get a link to that??? 🙏🏼

The Bible for the Modern Day

Taking a look at the Bible not as literal canon, blasphemy! Of course, jason and emily haven't been struck dead yet, so they are probably on to something.

Open, Affectionate, and Tolerant...

... are (sadly) not always the first words to spring to mind when thinking of Christianity, but the thoughtful and humor-based approach this podcast takes to the stories of the Bible (as well as to the quirks of the different denominations) is wonderful. Thank you.
