    Way too biased.

Politically,I am left of center and I am a huge fan of NPR. When this podcast was released I was excited to have a dose of real news every day but this podcast has travelled so far left they are bending the truth to oppose Trump. Very disappointing. I am not a Trump supporter but I still would like the facts not a left opinion. Shame Update: it keeps getting worse the sooner we get to the election. Fox News for the left. Shameful. Be better.

Where I primarily get my news

I’m an avid podcast listener. This is my choice news outlet. I don’t watch the news frequently so I get my news from here and what I choose to read. I love it. Concise and not one sided.

    Biased and unbalanced

It is sad to witness a publicly funded news service become a voice for left leaning activism and obviously negative to any perspective other than their own. You are not news. Used to be so much better.

    Good But Biased

Good round up of news and current events to start ur day, good amount of time spent on each subject usually total under 12mins, 3 topics HOWEVER: the political and social bias is palpable , the supposedly objective and unbiased news reporting personalities are overtly angry/acidic/bitter and biased, which makes the podcast extremely predictable and of a lesser credibility. This is EXTREMELY TROUBLING because it is NPR, a public broadcast supported by our tax dollars . I came here to avoid just this but to be honest it is worse than most! Such a shame and disappointing

    Is it biased?

Or are *you*?Reading a few comments and the negative ones surprised me. Have these individuals not actually LISTENED to the words and phrases and tones that come out of these politician’s mouths?? (Contrary to propaganda, it’s safe to say that the President *is* a politician, at least while s/he’s serving in political office.)A journalist saying “...[although] there was no evidence of [X]...” isn’t a personal, politically leaning statement. It’s a journalist stating that there is as of yet no evidence. Is that a bad journalist or a ‘leader’ making unsubstantiated statements? And didn’t Trump’s own FBI overturn all the Hunter Biden conspiracies?I just don’t get it...Anyhow, thanks NPR. I think you all are doing a great job, especially with the content you have to report on.

    Shadow of Its Former Glory

Growing discontent with the Trump administration and anxiety over the upcoming election has tainted whatever news NPR used to deliver. Rather than covering monumental news like the US Supreme Court’s ruling in June on LGBTQ rights under Title VII or social media’s recent censorship of a Hunter Biden news story, NPR has obsessively honed in on Trump and COVID-19. Such doomsaying tunnel vision, in a time when there is already plenty to go around, does not inspire enthusiastic listening. Whereas I once considered listening to Up First a welcome break in my morning routine, I now consider it an odious chore with only a glimpse of hope that after the election, NPR will return to providing balanced and comprehensive news.

The sun rises. NPR plays. And the coffee brews. These are my immutable rituals. Glad NPR makes the podcast available.

    Unpresidential

Finally a podcast without saying “today president do...”. I’m tired of hearing what les he said today but you still report them. If he says something truthful then yes report it. If you know it is not true (most of it is ) do not perpetuate his lies. Thank you.

Just enough to know what is going on

I am so happy to have found this podcast. Just enough to know what is going on and not too much to ruin my day. They are great about covering the news without “a thumb on the scale”

    Amazing Podcast

This is a great podcast — I listen every day and do not even reside in the U.S. The short format is nice which makes it easy to listen daily. The content has enough detail considering the length of the podcast because they don’t try and cover every story. I also get a lot of good recommendations for other NPR content through the cross promotion. Highly suggested for a daily listen!
