God sent the Podcast, in my Time of Need

Phil, Jase & Al have been a God send to me over these last few months. Being quarantined with my wife has been one of the most wonderful times of my life...times and experiences I will never forget. But occasionally men need to be in the company of other men! We all came from the dust of the earth, so we like going to the woods to get away from the day-to-day craziness of work.I started listening to the ‘Unashamed Podcast’ with these Godly gentlemen in the Fall of 2019. I was a late comer to the Duck Dynasty shows, but once I became a fan I could relate to some of the red neck things the entire cast portrayed. Being born and raised here in Northwest Georgia (Wildwood, Georgia) I loved going to the woods with my dad. He probably got into more trouble than I did, at least with my mom, but to be around men felt right. Hunting squirrels and rabbits was about the extent of my hunting career...back then we never saw deer or turkey, however now they’re everywhere up here. So, to hear Jase talk about fishing and Phil talk about the enjoyment of duck hunting some how excites me and causes me to reminisce of my childhood. Somewhere along the way I’ve let making money and buying more stuff that I’ll forget about within two years, get in the way of really living on and ‘off of’ the land. I own a small 40 acre farm about 1/2 woods to 1/2 hayfields, with the old honey hole back on my neighbor’s property, just a short walk through the woods, where I like to fish.Brother Al, our famous un-bearded brother, has such a vast knowledge of the Holy Bible. I have to say I knew Phil could preach, but didn’t realize how talented Jase was with the Scriptures. When Phil analyzes Jase’s comments and Al starts laughing at his dad’s commentary of Jase, it is like being at Thanksgiving dinner when everyone’s talking but no one’s listening to any one conversation. I get so tickled just listening. When Phil’s dictionary comes out e.g. “Radio-Singers” quality or talks about Jase’s gambling, but it’s not really gambling when you know you’re going to win...(I get it Jase, it’s your skill set), again it takes my mind off of harder things happening around me.On April 30, 2020 my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and time just kind of stopped for us for a few days. We are both Christians and trust the Lord completely. But my mind begins to start thinking of future days, and I recall Jase saying “we’ve won either way this thing’s going to go”. It was a lot easier hearing those words before hearing the word cancer. God has a perfect plan for our life, so we don’t sit around and worry, but trust God’s wisdom and power to direct our pathways daily.I recall on the podcast when Phil’s sister passed away from cancer and the other friends the guys have preached their funerals. This is real life...no agenda, just talking real talk...well, I’m here to say, those were and still are, words of healing. Jeremiah 17:14; James 5:14-15; and Isaiah 41:10 and so many others.I grew up a Methodist and have been a Baptist for over 30 years, now even a deacon; but I like what Jase said recently...don’t get hung up on pentecostals, protestants or evangelicals, nor Methodist, Baptist or Church of Christ, but focus on Jesus and be a Christian. I’ve heard so many church people badmouth each other’s faith...what a shame. And I like Phil’s resolution for perhaps why God has allowed the coronavirus at this exact time in our world’s history...to breakout of our Small Group mentality and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the lost, outside the church-house doors.I could go on with this Epistle but it’s time to close. Take time to listen to three consecutive podcast, you’ll be amazed at the wisdom of these three guys. I hope to someday meet each of these gentlemen and even shake their hand, if our government doesn’t outlaw handshaking. Take the challenge and listen to all 100 episodes, there may be a future trivia game come out of the podcast that will allow you the knowledge to win. And fail not to tell someone you may or may not personally know about the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the simple gift of salvation that awaits them.Warmest regards,Don Townsend

Refreshing

I am so glad Facebook has been bringing me snippets of this podcast. I have missed the Robertsons and their unapologetic delivery of the gospel and other hilarious family banter. Unashamed I’m so many ways, but also in the most important way! Glad you’ve found another platform!

More commercials than content

Been listening since the beginning, now there are 4-5 commercials per episode. More than any other podcast I listen to. Makes me wonder what their true motives are

Obeying (“Religious”)

Galatians 6:8 NIV[8] Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.Colossians 1:9-10 NIV[9] For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, [10] so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

Telling of the Gospel in a Refreshingly simple way.

So thankful to be able to listen to this podcast! I had watched Duck Dynasty on and off a few years ago. A few days ago, I started listening from the start of this podcast. I’m loving all the Bible reading. I love how simple the gospel really is, because of how you all present it (in the way it should be presented). I recently came of out the Word of Faith Movement, as well as the New Apostolic Reformation. So much emphasis on extra things outside the gospel. I have no much more peace about being on the earth and looking forward to eternity. Thanks again.

Wonderful

I just started listening recently and I started at the very beginning so I’m very behind but I absolutely love listening to it. I have loved this family since the Duck Dynasty show and I have also read one of Phil’s books! I have already recommended this podcast to a few friends and I’m only 20 episodes in! Love it!
