Local Flavor

Certainly not a polished podcast, but it shows it shows what you can do with an idea, some basic equipment and some good friends to help voice the parts. And cool to have a locally produced fiction podcast. I’ll keep listening.

Great story, but low quality.

I really liked the story line, but it reads much more like a low budget audiobook then a horror audio drama. I wish could read the script. I’m giving this 3 stars instead of 2 because you can they’ll that this guy is really passionate about audio dramas, and he does recommend a lot of other good podcasts. I’m writing this review at the middle of season two. If I make it through season three and it is better, I would consider updating this review.

Ok story

The main character sounds like a 50 plus year old lady with a smokers growl. The rest of the voice actors are ridiculously bad. Don’t bother

Ok, but the acting is HORRIBLE

The story is interesting, but most of the acting is so bad that it will make you laugh. It really hurts the storytelling. I though the acting in Lake Clarity was bad.... this is MUCH worse

Huge lack of sound design

I listened to this until about season 3. And it took me foreeevveeerrrrrr. I really liked lake clarity, but this doesn’t even compare. Acting is good with some people, terrible on others. Edited lines are repeated. Lack of sound editing - no noise gate on voices, I can vividly hear a/c in the background. Literally no sound design. The “rakes” or however you spell them, sound like when my niece play growls at my dog, no ambience for atmosphere, no music scores, the sounds that *do* exist, make no sense. Idk, I felt it had potential and I hoped it got better since I listen to podcasts for 10 hours a day at work. But I just can’t handle the cringe.

Terrible and cringey

I tried. I really did. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for season 1, and struggled through season two. On season three now, and honestly, this is the worst voice acting I’ve ever heard. The storyline is weak and jumbled, and the writing is corny, cringey, and subpar. I don’t really understand why it has such a high rating, but it is NOT deserved. I understand the podcast world is a warm and accepting place, but come on. This is just bad. This sounds like an eighth grade drama class reading a script. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

NICE

I came here because of Subject Found (another podcast) and I LOVED tunnels' first episode, though, finding the right episode is kinda confusing, I mean, should it go from ep4 to ep3.034 and then to ep304? Or is my phone broken

Listened to all three seasons in less than a week.

I liked this much more than I expected to, give it a try. Good writing, likable characters, good pacing. Lots of fun.

Fun Podcast

Not terribly refined or polished. It doesn’t have great voice acting or audio quality. But I can overlook all of that because The story is pretty decent it’s obviously a work of heart. I appreciate the efforts to tell the story. I have enjoyed listening to it so far and plan to continue.

Just keeps getting better

Such a great mystery and cast that keeps getting better with every episode. The creepiness factor grows right along with the mythology. They do a fantastic job of solving some mysteries while deepening others.

Podcaster Gets Caught Up in Epic Battle

Tunnels starts with a podcaster investigating stories about the tunnels under a small Georgia town. Over time he is drawn into mysteries about an asylum fire and rival cults. The acting in the first episodes is cheesy but gets better. My main complaint with season 3 is that there are so many characters that it is hard to keep them straight. The web page is not much help.

Enjoyable

Tunnels is a cool idea and a fun story. Yes, Robert Chauncey is a far better writer than he is a voice actor but his stilted manner of speech gets to be kind of endearing after awhile. Also this podcast has the exemplary Sarah Golding who should have a part in every podcast ever recorded forever and ever.

It was good

The early episodes were really good but the plot is getting confusing and it feels less like documentary which is why I liked it in the first place
