Literally Obsessed
My friend sent me this podcast and I was instantly obsessed! It’s all I listen to and love that they keep politics out of the commentary. It’s so easy to listen to and I appreciate the chronological retelling.

A plethora of reasons to listen!
I’ve been listening to a lot of true crime podcasts for about 3 years or so. I keep on coming back to True Crime Garage. I love the Crispy Colonel and the Captain! A good friend of mine, who is a forensics expert and a previous police detective, recommended TCG. I really appreciate that they put out two 1-hour episodes per week! Nic has emailed me back twice, which I also appreciate. (I feel as if they’re not too big for their britches like a lot of podcasters.) I also dig the interesting mix of types of cases, how the research is so thorough, and the banter between the two.

Always late to the party
New listener… ashamed I have not found you sooner. In looking for a specific local case I came across your show. Wow I was immediately blown away. Nobody covered the case with such details like you guys. Very impressed already. Look forward to your extensive backlog!

Best all around true crime PC
Great information. Great storytelling. Fabulous chemistry between the Captain and the Colonel. I listen to a lot of podcasts… this is the one I look forward to a new episode from the most. Cheers!

Why is captain part of this show
He adds zero to the show, and I can feel my brain cells dying listening to his incoherent takes on cases. The way he randomly pops in with one liners easily taken from a middle school notebook makes the show seem unprofessional. Maybe I just don’t get the vibe they’re going for, but for me it’s like they’re trying to mix water and oil.

Motive for false confession…
I love the show guys! Super new listener but listening earlier to browns chicken massacre gave me the strange thought that I wonder if people who provide a false confession do so to keep the other killer free to fill their void of serial killing via free serial killers once incarcerated… 🧐 thanks for the content! Great show!

Used to be great
This was my go-to podcast for the longest time but it has gone downhill tremendously over the past couple years. It’s like they’ve run out of interesting crimes so they do 70 year old cold cases or uninteresting missing persons. The Captain seems to only contribute anymore by just uttering an inappropriate one-liner at a random point of Nick’s narrative or by bashing the law enforcement agency who handled the case. It’s upsetting because this show used to be TOP TIER!! From True Crime Garage to True Crime Garbage in a few short years.

YAS to some true crime and beer!
Witty and sharply acerbic commentary and insights into a mix of cases about the missing, the dead, the guilty, the infamous and the effects of crime on a community and the families of the victims. I like that they often tackle lesser known cases and try to help shed light on them. Always worth a listen.

TCG has Tanked - Long Time Listener
UPDATE (October 5, 2020)… Boooring. I wonder why I still listen. Honestly the best part of the show is the introduction, after that we are presented with extraneous dialogue, poor reading, and idiotic commentary by the captain. Most episodes are two parts now, which means more commercials and more time to listen to these guys babble. UPDATE (May 28, 2020): Most of the time I like the cut of their jib but I have to say that during the first Ahmaud Arbery episode I sat dumbfounded as I listened to the Captain ramble on with completely inaccurate information, bumbling through his opinions about the case. It was embarrassing. I was actually surprised to see TCG cover this situation so soon, and they probably shouldn't have touched it at all. Not sure if I'll listen anymore. Used to like the show but it's not as good as it once was. Previous review updates: Too many advertisements these days. Music and voices are adversely affected by over-compression. The voices sound squeezed unnatural, and music suffers from pumping. Otherwise nice tracks. UPDATE: Not digging the new dramatization approach. Hopefully the multi-part Shaker Heights thing is a one-off. The Captain is not a voice actor. If I want audio theater drama there are plenty of options out there. TCG was two guys talking about true crime. Please get back to the format for which so many people enjoy the show.

Good true crime pod
I really enjoy these podcasts. The crimes are laid out matter of fact and very clear. There does not seem to be much editorializing but stating facts. One thing that makes me laugh is when the Captain interjects some comedic line. The Col pauses to let him speak but then just keeps on rolling and doesn’t even acknowledge it.

Keep doing the unsolved cases!
These guys hit a home run every week, I never miss an episode! It’s my all time favorite podcast. Ban the Van and don’t litter! But Nic and the Captain just give us the facts and some sass #courtesyofcaptain #broughttoyoubynic and it’s perfection. There isn’t a better show out there. I hope they keep sticking to unsolved cases. The solved cases don’t need the attention like the unsolved ones do.
