DPS Power!

This podcast puts into words the most positive as well as most challenging aspects of working in the district. Thank you for challenging me, teaching me, and consoling me throughout my career in Denver Public Schools!

Just what I need in this VERY WHITE FIELD OF WORK

I’m a Muslim woman of color currently working on my teaching credential masters at a very conservative private Christian university, and lemme tell y’all that this podcast is what’s helping me survive my program! Don’t get me wrong—I’m in a cool program with some dope professors… but ya girl is also one of like 4 women of color in the entire cohort, and definitely the only Muslim too. Finding my voice in that setting has been a journey and the journey would have been exponentially more difficult without Gera and Kevin to help put things into perspective once in a while (or even to just offer some comic relief after a long day of explaining to my white classmates how the world looks outside of their bubbles!). I feel like I have these two in my car or living room with me just chilling out and having a conversation that I’ll occasionally contribute to without their realizing; it’s just amazing. Keep doing what y’all are doing and stay dope!

Funny and anti-racist pedagogy

It’s like Paulo Freire, Cornel West, and Dave Chapelle had a podcast baby that was delivered while the Black Star album was playing.

Stay Dope

These two are woke as h*ll. They talk about real issues affecting POC in education and the country without getting depressing, keeping it lit. Like all good educators they cite their sources and they keep their audience engaged. Hit 'em up!
