Started great

I am a new listener but have gone through all of the available episodes and have to say that in my opinion this podcast was wonderful in the earlier episodes when it was more like a conversation between two people about the subject instead of a sermon being preached by one person.

Almost as good as a critique partner

I’m a new listener and consider this podcast a serendipitous discovery. Using submitted works as teaching tools feels like I’m sitting in a classroom. The few episodes I’ve heard helped me tweak my manuscript with confidence. You’ve earned a new fan.

Excellent Resource

Listening to the editor suggestions after the read through is incredibly useful. It gives the listeners practice in identifying problems by noting if their own edits do or do not match the hosts critiques.

What every writer needs to know

I’ve been listening to Leslie and Clark since the podcast’s infancy and have yet to miss an episode. The quality if the advice is the best I have heard with easy to follow instructions on strengthening your manuscript and improving self-editing techniques. The real gem, however, is the website at writership.com where I can follow the show notes, review Leslie’s edits to story submissions and follow links to useful articles on craft. Thank you, for all the work that goes into each episode and in helping a humble hobby writer find his voice and find new enjoyment in the creative process.

Great advice!

I like how they take a single writing concept per episode and explain it using real texts for demonstration.

Fantastic podcast! Very helpful

I don’t usually write reviews so I’ll just keep this short. I love The Writership! For aspiring writers, it’s beneficial to listen to Leslie, and Clark read submissions and offer critical feedback. It’s a unique and useful idea. I always look forward to each episode, and I highly suggest anyone who's struggling with their manuscript to listen to The Writership.

An excellent technique workshop

This is one of the most immediately useful podcasts out there. The hosts address common grammar, punctuation, and formatting mistakes. They are informative without being pedantic. They also address higher level issues like character development and the use of trademarked names in your writing. I'm so glad I found it. Short, practical, lovely.

Variety

I love the variety of genres represented, it speaks to their professionalism and love of the written word. Editing is not my strong suit, I'd much rather craft the story and turn it over to someone else for fine-tuning, otherwise I edit the life out of my work. The only thing I'd change is adding either a little more post-production to edit out mouth-pops, coughs, and whatnot.

Keep it up

This is an incredibly informative and useful podcast, but please figure out a way to equalize/master the volume between each of the hosts. Far too often one of the hosts is far louder than the other and it makes listening difficult.
