Reverent, beautiful, witty and informative

I feel a little late to the party but just jumped on listening and I’m hooked. I’m a wildlife biologist but you don’t have to be one to appreciate the beauty, tenderness, and reverence Chris Morgan displays in his reporting on his animal subjects from all over the world. He dispels myths, and discusses biological concepts in an accessible way. Great music too. Kudos to all working on this production. This podcast gives me hope, as one working for wildlife conservation, knowing there are many others out there too doing the same.

A family favourite!

We realised sometime ago there are few family viewing tv shows anymore. So we switched to podcasts to listen to with our younger daughters aged 3 and 8. This one is a favourite and results in some great conversations. We have listened to some episodes over and over...please bring out a second season so we can listen to some new ones!

Wonderful podcast

I love the subject matter and all of the interviews with different people and their experiences around the world. The narrator is interesting to listen to and keeps my attention with his mixture of humorous and dramatic stories about his experiences in the wild. It’s very educational and the episodes lift my mood. I love listening to this podcast while I’m driving 3 hours each way to Philadelphia or when I’m going for a walk in the woods. Can’t wait until the next season. Whether you’re interested in conservation and nature or not, you will like this podcast.

Enlightening and Gripping

This podcast makes you see nature in way that is so practical, that you can think about it everyday. Learning about keystone species is enough for you to see how human impact the world.

Reconnecting to the wild

I am originally from the Pacific Northwest but currently live in the deep South. As a result I am no longer in nature the way that I used to be. This podcast has reconnected me to the forests and nature that I grew up with. The episodes are interesting and engross you wherever they’re taken. I also love that these are not just recorded in the studio but also integrate the actual places that are being discussed. I have been sharing this with all of my friends and family who share my love of the northwest in the beautiful places it holds.

Wonderful show. Grew up on Lake Superior in Upper Michigan and we were surrounded by “the wild”. I remember mom running out into the backyard with a broom to shush away a black bear looking for food and my dad warning us to watch for coyotes and bears while we kids were picking blueberries. There has just been a report, plus pictures, of a mountain lion. This is something not seen in the UP for over a century. Nature DOES continue to refresh and amaze.

My new favorite podcast

I grew up on nature shows. I couldn’t get enough of Nature, Kratts Creatures and the like. This podcast brings me back to that feeling, and because I am also a pacific northwesterner, I find myself consistently recommending this podcast to anyone and everyone who will listen. Potentially a classic.

Relaxing, educational, and fun

I love listening to this as I relax before bed. The nature sounds and imagery are really great. As an environmental scientist I love listening to other people loving nature, and I always learn something. The host has a really easy going manner and it’s just an overall delight to listen to. Thank you for this!!

Thank you for this podcast!

I’m currently studying Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana and I’m so glad that there is a podcast in this career field. I listened to episodes when I was in the woods setting up transects. It is so inspiring to hear people’s stories along with the history of conservation and the future of conservation. It’s very enjoyable to listen too with humor and great editing. I look forward to listening to future episodes!

So descriptive

Chris certainly has a gift in describing places most of us will never visit, animals we may never see or touch and smells that we may (fortunately) never smell. While this podcast is absolutely educational and informative, it also brings your imagination to life. Chris is perfectly descriptive in his words and explanations, you can put yourself right where he is. Caution though: this podcast will put the desire in your heart to quit your job, sell all your belongings and travel the world to experience more of nature.
