Melissa D.

I totally related to this topic. It takes courage to bridge the awkwardness to be mission minded with your neighbors. Great encouragement and tips.

Bold and Beautiful

This podcast is so bold and beautiful. Twyla shares such a positive message of how to be more Christ-like, what it looks like and encouraging all of us to share this with others. Her words speak truth. Definitely five stars and worth listening to and sharing with others in our little world around us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow!

Such a great view about how we are to live missional and be a light to those around us! Coming from an introvert, thank you for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone, and giving me ideas to use to accomplish that one baby step at a time!

Inspiring

I really do long to live missionally in my neighborhood. Twyla debunks all my excuses as to why I can’t be more hospitable toward my neighbors (my house isn’t big enough, it’s too messy, etc). I look forward to listening to more! She will inspire you to get out of your own way and love your neighbors — just like we are told to in Scripture!

Living out the Gospel, Right Where You Are

I have followed Twyla @The Uncommon Normal for over six months, and it has revolutionized the way I think about my actual neighbors and the neighborhood where we live. Now, when I am walking around my neighborhood, I hope to meet neighbors. I pray for my next door neighbors and ask God for tangible ways to bless them, whether it’s with a meal, or banana bread. But I know it’s deeper. It’s living with the conviction, “God has us EXACTLY where He wants us to be.” Yes, in this exact house, with these exact neighbors. I don’t know yet, how it will all look. But I know God wants to do more right where we live, than simply nod and wave at each other. Twyla has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities and love—I am so imperfectly ready to begin this uncommon normal life, right in my own neighborhood.

Life-long learning & authentic community

I'm so excited to learn more from Twyla about authentic community, especially in our own neighborhoods.Showing us that the pace is less important than the direction, Twyla emphasizes one's worth and purpose, pointing out that we are all life-long learners together.
