The Three Questions with Andy Richter

The Three Questions with Andy Richter

Published by: Team Coco & Earwolf
1 Episode | First Released: Jun 14
Host Andy Richter asks the same three questions to each guest: Where do you come from? Where are you going? What have you learned? These three simple questions, when answered honestly and thoughtfully, are enough to provide a pretty complete picture of who a person is. The answers are what Andy always wants to know about people. This will not be a one-sided process, as Andy won’t shy away from getting personal himself.

Love this podcast but...

The song Cotton-Eyed Joe gets stuck in my head every time I listen. It’s true testament to my enjoyment of this podcast that I continue to listen despite this fact.

More diversity please?

Fantastic conversations with Andy! But a variety of people of color would be even more fantastic please!

Hit and Miss

I’ve loved Andy for a longtime, but he’s not the best interviewer. He has interesting guests but often makes the conversation about himself (which is okay in moderation), but the episodes tend to lose their flow.

3 cheers for 3 questions....that’s the best I could do

Every interview has been funny and sincere and interesting. Andy is delightful. (Neat hearing improv greats like Besser. I hope Andy Daly is scheduled!)

Thanks!

Andy is the best interviewer I have heard on any format. He gives the guest time to answer each question and even though he shares antidotes from his own life, you never get the feeling the show is about him. The show just feels very honest and authentic.

Really honest

Watching Conan since late 90s. Andy is a good comedian. But this show is something entirely different. So honest, insightful, and kind of sobering. Most interview shows are not like this.

this podcast is great!

Andy is so great at getting guests to open up and the conversation just flows so well. You learn a lot about everyone (guests and Andy) which is genuinely so lovely

I just want to hear the guests

Andy seems like a great guy. I loved listening to his story and history as the guest on other podcasts. I really like his guests on his podcasts so, I want to listen to them complete their sentences without interruption.

Subliminal Message?

Enjoy the Podcast, but really posting just because of the latest LaVar Burton episode... At 5:15 into the podcast, Andy just dubbed himself in, saying his name in a quite whisper. Hilariously odd...

Charming host, still learning, but Promotion needs to stop!

I don’t know how to feel about this influx of celebrity podcasters because it feels like the homegrown culture has suddenly been tainted. That said, Andy is such an endearing host who seems like he wants to join podcasting culture instead of changing it. His three questions are great and he seems to have a genuine interest in his guests.Andy is not used to in-depth conversations professionally. This unfortunately shows by his need to fill empty spaces by talking about himself or nothing in particular. He also interrupts, I think in an effort to make the guests understand that he relates. This is a problem with other actors (looking at you, Dax Shepard). A proper podcast editor could give him some tips and tricks if he’s willing to learn. One thing we have GOT to stop doing: stop having celebrity guests on to promote their latest projects!!! There’s nothing wrong with cross promotion but this seems like nothing but “I’m only going on this show because I’m contractually obligated to.” Andy’s show needs people who want to have honest conversation.

I wait in anticipation for each episode.

I just listened to the LeVar Burton interview. I have been listening from the beginning and I have to say, I love this program. Andy gets the guest to open up in a way I have never heard before. He seems to really care about learning who the guest really is as a person. I love how he just lets the conversation developer organically. I grew up watching LeVar Burton and I learned more about him today than I have in my entire life. Thank you Andy!

Hard to listen to

I always liked Andy with Conan but now I feel sad for him. His interviewing is terrible. He talks over his guests and talks about himself. He gets lost for words and it’s just hard to listen to. Two episodes were enough.
