Consistently Great

A wonderful laid back RPG discussion that is perfect to kick back and have a beer (even if most of the staff won’t!). Lots of good discussion without getting stuck in the weeds. In its second year, the guys have gotten more comfortable and have really found their groove. Keep up the great work!

Just listened to the E3 impression show and enjoyable show. Nice coverage and input. Found it from Casey joining since enjoy the Talk Nintendo podcast that he cohosts.

Excellent in every way

I somehow stumbled upon this podcast on YouTube and have since subscribed and become a huge fan. The hosts are legit. They somehow balance a casual, laid-back demeanor while also keeping focused on the subject at hand. This is something I’ve found that a large amount of podcasts struggle to accomplish (often going off into personal life accounts or unrelated tangents or attempting to rush through information about a game). The Thirsty Mage sets a high bar for game review or game-club style podcasts. The way the hosts begin each episode by casually, albeit briefly discussing their drink of choice and then jumping into the game they are actually passionate about discussing is superb. It feels comfortable and informative and entertaining.Love this podcast!

Finally!

Finally...THE podcast for RPG fans. This podcast is exactly what I have been looking for. A long, detailed discussion of the games, one game at a time, by fellow fans of the genre. I’m tired of listening to or reading reviews that essentially boil down to whether the reviewer likes RPGs. This is not that. These guys obviously enjoy the games as much as I do. They give delve deeply into every facet of the games (visuals, music, gameplay, characters, plot, systems, sub-systems, etc.). So glad I found this podcast and I really hope it does well so they will keep making it. There are so many games I am looking forward to hearing them discuss (like the original Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X). And, I suspect this may end up swaying me to buy some RPGs that I have been interested in in the past but passed on. Great job. Can’t say enough good things about this podcast. But, like the games themselves, if you’re not a fan of RPGs, this probably won’t be your cup of tea.
