Fun and relaxing to listen to but...

Too much cursing. I would like to listen to this when I’m commuting in the mornings but I have my 3 year old in the car and sometimes there is back to back to back f-bombs and I have to turn it off. One or two an episode is no big deal but some segments have constant cursing.

Shut The F**k Up And Let Alex Speak!!!!

I was really excited about this podcast as a hardcore Potter enthusiast, but I struggled to even get through 3 episodes. Heather is constantly interrupting and talking over Alex as she goes on childish tirades about absolute bullsh**. Rude to her cohost, contradicting her own arguments, and utilizing excessive profanity just for the sake of using profanity (compare her speech in the first half of the episode to the second half)... she comes off as ignorant, self-absorbed, and immature. I’d give this podcast zero stars were it not for Alex. His input is insightful and he does a great job of trying to move the conversation forward when Heather actually allows him to speak.

Catching up

I’m only in the early episode, but I listened to them argue for 20 minutes as they were confused about Christmas being celebrated by witches and wizards. A cursory search would have shown that Constantine stole Christmas from pagan celebrations. Also, audio quality, and peaking microphones makes it tough to listen to at time.

Binge Listening

I’m currently binging these episodes (just finished book three) and I love it! Thanks for bringing some magic to my muggle life 😂Update: I’m on episode 66 and I’m hoping that by the end of book seven the summary will just be Alex reading the chapters line by line

Do not miss this!

This is what I’ve been missing from my life!! I look forward to each new episode, and literally check every day, because I enjoy listening to Heather and Alex so much. I can’t decide what my favorite part of the podcast is, the puns, the musical numbers, summaries, or the unique topics they address. Their chemistry is wonderful. I can’t get over how good the editing is, you literally can’t tell if something was cut, and the sound quality is EXCELLENT. I cannot believe they don’t get sponsors for this IT IS SO GOOD!! How can we make that happen guys? I can’t let myself think about what I will do when they get through the series because it brings me such joy. Heather and Alex - THANKSSSS Amigos for your work on this, I love it, and hope to meet you one day! You guys are awesome!! I can’t wait to see what else you guys come up with (remaining episodes and everything thereafter!).

My favorite HP podcast

I know there are a million re-reading pods, but this one is my fave. I laugh out loud regularly and this is one of those podcasts that make you feel like you’re sitting around with your buds earnestly discussing Harry Potter.

No Shamless self promotion

I don't agree with everything they say, but I appreciate they are saying it without their hand out and this is a true labor of love for them.

In love!!!!

Found this podcast a few months ago and am in love!!!! About to start book 4. First I love rereading the books but also love looking at things in ways I never thought of before. I listen to this on my commute to work and people have to think I’m crazy when I’m laughing out loud. I also talk back to you guys as if you can hear me and I’m part of the conversation so I really must look like a nut all alone in my car 😂😂

Amazing!!

I have been desperately searching for a Harry Potter podcast after listening to Binge Mode, and after a few false starts I have found it!! Alex and Heather are funny, insightful, and often raise issues that I hadn’t even considered as a long time HP fan. I look forward to listening to the rest (I’m on episode 30 now) and hearing more of their magic!

Hysterical and Poignant

God I love this podcast. Alex and Heather are so so so so funny, and insightful, and just easy and wonderful to listen to. I’d love it if they’d continue podcasting even after they’ve wrapped this series up, I’d gladly follow whichever topic they choose!

5 ⭐️ from a Snape Apologist

Although I am a Severus Snape apologist, I love the podcast and am glad it’s back. Alex and Heather are insightful and funny and add whole new perspectives. PS. I work at the Martin Van Buren Presidential Papers and loved your assessment of him for the presidents sorting episode.

⚡️

I sincerely enjoy this podcast. I don’t always agree with everything Alex and Heather say, but in a good way...if they could hear my rebuttals we would have a delightful, funny, thoughtful conversation. Instead, I just get to listen to their delightful etc. conversation without me. Also, I appreciate their non HP book recommendations, love of animals, and general wishes for a more just world.

Five Stars! Would listen again!

Heather and Alex are super charming. The podcast is witty, fun and engaging. I find myself joining in the conservation as if the hosts can hear me especially when I disagree. A must listen for adult HP fans who enjoy a little (or a lot) of snark. The HP universe isn’t perfect and I’m so glad Heather and Alex are here to hilariously point out all the flaws.

Mixed Feelings

Appreciate some of their insights, but the hosts constantly bring up sexism and misogyny in the books while they themselves belittle Molly for being ‘just’ a mother and housewife. Just a little quibble.
