It’s about the now & future not the past
Not sure I buy your line of thought. We have new OC, OL and WR staff with simple concept but completely different approach to executing. Example would be a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme, tons of teams run it, but how it’s executed and nuances with scheme/talent/play calling makes a huge difference in the results. You also have significant changes on OL with Roberts/Lucas and Johnson was laying his natural position (I believe he was #1 Center in country country Ming our). You also have significant physical development of returning players with a completely aligned staff with clear focus and a very detailed plan they are executing. Mix in the deepest WR group since maybe 98-2001 and I am not getting any feel that there is any lack of confidence. And finally, have you ever talked to Akers & Laborn? They do not lack confidence, trust or have any doubt, it’s totally different unit. Also, they will run inside/outside zone and some power using TE’s. This offense will be just fine, Briles is one of the best play callers in last 10 years.
