Breakers fans might not care that much about the team's controversy-ridden sponsorship by Barstool Sports, according to a marketing expert. The team has been criticised for advertising the Barstool Sports blog, which has been accused of writing sexist, homophobic and transphobic articles. Breakers CEO Matt Walsh doesn't agree with everything on the site but says he's keeping the sponsorship contract. Marketing consultant Mike Hutcheson told Mike Yardley sponsors don't have to be squeaky clean, and unless the issue is huge, it probably won't hurt the team. He said people are taking the issue too seriously.
