Good Energy, Good Content!

These hosts have it down. Good chemistry, good energy (podcast doesn’t drag), sound quality is good, and they’ve done their research. What more could you want?!Update: Still awesome. As a white woman who *thinks* she is culturally aware and sensitive, this podcast has helped enlighten me even more. Amber and Jess are telling the stories that are not often told…if they are told at all. The world is SO skewed against POC, even in death. Thanks you two, and congrats to you on your marriage (not to each other)!!! ♥️♥️

One for crime fans

There are a lot of podcasts about crime but very rarely that you can find any discussing consistently about those in the LGBT community. That’s what really special about this show and I agree with some others that while this is definitely not for everyone, I am enjoying it and recommend that you check it out too. :)

Tells less heard stories

I just have to respond to the person that called them “white woman woke”. The hosts aren’t white- that’s one of the things I like about the podcast that it’s not only white folks addressing these stories. You can like them or not but it’s an inaccurate assumption to make about the hosts. I really like the show because it tells stories I haven’t heard elsewhere- especially stories that involve queer women of color like the San Antonio Four.

Phenomenal

Okay, Amber and Jess on The Less Dead are fantastic. The two have a wonderful rapport together and cover the content so well. I particularly like how well they work off each other's thoughts and add a little banter into the mix. Sure, the content they cover can be pretty macabre, but their use of humor throughout their episodes really balances out the darkness of the content and just how difficult it can be for marginalized people to talk about these subjects and the experiences they were put through. The show is so much more than these case studies. They cover the fear that marginalized people face in their daily lives, especially given the current political climate, but still manage the difficult task of keeping it lighthearted and hopeful. Their takes on these issues both carry so much weight as both of them are WOC. Overall, I can't find enough great things to say about them. Though they're still relatively new to the podcast scene, I'll definitely continue listening to them. Great dynamic and great content!

MFM rip off

I really tried to give this show a chance, but I had to shut it off more than once on a number of episodes. These ladies are well-intentioned but take way too long to get to the case details. They cannot say a sentence without getting distracted and launching into a sidebar conversation. The constant giggling and joking gets old too... it's just too valley girl-esque when the subject matter is *supposed* to be quite serious. I like that they're attempting to shed light on crimes that affect marginilized minorities and the most vulnearable members of our society, but the entertainment value driven aspect of this show really weighs down on their attempt to execute this idea. I hate to say it, but this reeks as a more "white woman woke" version of My Favorite Murder, but the difference is that Karen and Georgia are actual comics...and they're actually funny. Sorry girls, I tried but the show comes across as glib and insensitive. Dissapointing considering all the possibilities at hand to bring attention to lesser known cases.

I’m not a fan either

Good concept. Great idea for a podcast but I’ve found that there’s too much talk that isn’t relevant to the case. I had to skip through almost 37 minutes of episode 14 before the hosts even mentioned the victims name. I suggest that the hosts talk much less about themselves and focus on the actual cases.
