Awesome Podcast

I’ve been an August Burns Red fan since 2007 and I feel like I’ve become a real adult with the guys in the band. The aggressive, percussive and angry music resonates with me. Seen them live several times; have met Matt in person. I really appreciate how ABR has been the same group of guys for almost 15 years. I love the apparent diversity of the band. Matt G is my favorite drummer - he’s an absolute beast. And most of all I appreciate that Matt and Jake are outspoken about their faith in Christ. This podcast is kind of a mashup of all those things. It’s always a great listen. Thanks guys for putting this podcast together!

Fantastic Show

These guys to a great job and really know their stuff. I haven’t played live in about 6 years now and they really are inspiring me to get back out there. The Bible study is solid and reminds me of me and my friends sitting around discussing these topics. Keep up the great work guys and thanks for being your selves, it keeps the show genuine and fun.

So good

I remember my only interaction with Matt, was when they were touring with UO, and Emery, and I saw them in Chicago; their Constellations album had just come out and they were dope. After the show the security was rushing everyone out but everyone wanted to buy merch, it was a real disservice to the bands, bc a lot of bands make money from merch sales and the bouncers were like shows over no loitering. At any rate, I snuck past security (bc YOLO) and saw Matt leaning by the wall, dude looked exhausted and asked him, hey man do you guys take credit cards (bc I NEVER have cash on me) and he just does the cool guy look-away, “no man, we don’t take credit cards.” LOL it was so awkward but still a funny story. Since then I’ve always bought their albums and maybe a shirt or two and have seen them probably 6 different times. Love this podcast and it’s message.

First time listener

I questioned about listening to this podcast because I am not a drummer but I am an ABR fan and admire the skill of drumming. Listening to this podcast especially the Refocusing podcast was an amazing surprise. Although there was some drum language I can say I didn’t completely understand but the topic of refocusing hit on life in general and as a Christian. Wisdom poured out of Matt and Tim and I was truly blessed.

Refreshing , Positive and Encouraging

I’ve know Matt & Tim for over 10 years. What drew me to connect with Matt and Tim was their honesty, humbleness and their genuine Love for people with no questions or conditions. Whether you believe in Christianity or not. Whether you play drums or not. Matt and Tim will always treat you with respect and Love. What’s not like to love about that. ♥️🥁✝️🎸🙏♥️

Sincere, Entertaining, & Interesting

If you don’t know where to start, check out my stand-out episodes first: #13 and #19. If you’re like me and not a drummer, the Drum Topic segment of each full episode will help you develop a greater appreciation for good music — especially where drumming is concerned, but beyond that too.Whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, or come from a different church than Matt and Tim, the “God Topic” portion of their regular episodes and Minisodes will give you an excuse to think about living a life of purpose.Sometimes you’ll get distracted finding music Tim’s written or wondering why he laughs and says “um” when sharing good ideas. Other times you’ll wonder if Matt fangirls over Ben Shapiro like so many men and women fangirl over him playing drums with ABR. But then you’ll realize you’re missing out on their conversation and jump back to catch up because you don’t want to miss any commentary, jokes, or stories. It’s easy to see Tim Anderson and Matt Greiner are actively involved with their audience via email and social media. They regularly invite listeners to: send in questions and feedback about the episodes, contribute ideas for the show (future guests, “Flash questions,” drum topics, God topics), and share their drum videos for the chance to be featured on Instagram.Keep it going, fellas!

A Very Needed Podcast

There are 3 podcasts that I tend to listen to: the “Ben Shapiro Show” for politics/news, a well renowned medical lecturer for me to stay up to date with my job, and this podcast. Out of all of these podcasts, Holy Ghost Notes is the one I anticipate the most for new content. I must say... it wasn’t until I started listening to a few episodes that I realized how needed this is in my life. I am sure many of us can recall a time when you sat down with a good friend or family member and just had a really great, edifying, transparent talk about important things. The kind of conversation that you walked away from feeling like you left a better person. Often times, I find myself learning more about life and what I believe through instances like that than a designed lecture or sermon. This is what this podcast is for me: great edifying conversation with other Christian men who search for truth together. Tim and Matt almost approach this as a men’s small group feel... the great kind where each person is there to build one another up, help each other out, search for truth and honoring God... while still being very down to earth and embracing being a dude. If you feel a need in your life for that kind of fellowship... and it is very important (trust me), or have it and want more while you are driving to and from work, you will not be disappointed with this podcast. Oh yeah, they also talk about drums and stuff :)

Refreshing... very refreshing

Although this podcast is aimed for drummers and those of Christian faith I really feel this could be for anybody. It’s honestly refreshing to just drive, turn this on and just hear two genuine people laugh it up and talk about life together..... but it definitely helps that they are talking about drums and their Love of Jesus Christ. These two have been such a blessing for me and I look forward to listening every time! They have definitely pushed me in my drumming and in my faith! Keep doing God’s work fellows! Matt can’t wait to see you play for a 3rd time in 2020! Got tickets to see you in Houston, much love from the Great State of Texas!

Entertaining, informing, inspiring

Tim and Matt share decades of musical knowledge and experience. Even though I’m not a drummer, I love listening to these guys! I also appreciate how honest they are when they talk about God and faith. Listen to the episode on validation and you’ll see (hear!) what I mean.

Great conversation, engaging hosts

Tim and Matt are easy to listen to and have great chemistry on this podcast. It’s really refreshing to hear real talk about Christianity. They are open, honest, and real about their faith, their struggles, their lives, and their passions. This podcast has been a comfort to me in times of need and has given me some hope when I’ve felt down. I hope they keep this up. I’m not a musician but my husband is, so it’s also nice to listen to the music/drumming portion of the podcast to learn a little. There seems to be something for everyone.
