Thanks

As a parent of a child who is currently struggling with gut pain that cannot be diagnosed I greatly appreciate this podcast. Laura and Huelya work to weave together insights from a professional (Laura, dietician) and personal (Huelya, IBS patient) perspective. I appreciate the duality of this communication, and I feel it offers a good balance of education with practical insights. I am trying the low FODMAP diet under a nutritionist’s care, and this show augments my understanding of the complexities of this new way of eating.

The Push I Needed

I was diagnosed with IBS 30 years ago and struggle with it mostly on my own because the doctors I tried were at a loss. I knew about the low-FODMAP diet but I couldn’t get my head around it. This podcast was the push I needed to try it and I feel better- emotionally and physically.

Very useful, but quality is hard to Listen to

The information is very helpful and both are very knowledgeable. However, the sound quality is awful and makes me not finish listening to different episodes. Also Julia often takes quite a while get around to the point she is trying to Make. Just offering some insight, as I feel this podcast is supplying great information, but could be streamlined better.

Horrible sound quality

I really like the content but the sound quality is horrible! Their voices go in and out and entire words will be missing sometimes. I tried streaming it from their website as well, but had the same problems. Specifically, episode 9 is where it got so bad I decided to leave feedback.

Vegan and lowFODMAP

Love this easy to listen to info and commentary. I’ve listened on and off. Just heard ‘survival of the elimination phase’. As one of a growing number of vegans, I heard the part about vegetarian challenges and wondered if it could be improved in future episodes. I appreciated the explanations about pulses (beans), especially about their health benefits! I was dissatisfied by the lack of mention of ‘vegan’ or ‘plant-based’ and other high protein lowFODMAP foods widely known to vegans. I was also disappointed by the mention of eggs as a ‘necessary’ source of meat-free protein. It was said as though not eating eggs would leave someone hungry or inadequately nourished. To better support vegan or plant-based listeners, it would help to give info or recommend wonderful resources such as The Wild Gut Project or Vegan and Low-FODMAP: What to Eat When You Can’t Eat Anything. My perspective is that I won’t give up vegan and I could use the most encouragement to try lowFODMAP with confidence. My concern is without the aforementioned info or resources myself or others would be discouraged and have poorer outcomes.

SO Helpful

I love this podcast. I have had food allergy/intolerance problems for years, and was recently diagnosed with IBS. This podcast has been more informative than my doctor has ever been. I have started watching my diet more closely, following along with FODMAP as best as I can (so far), and I have been feeling much better. Thanks so much!

Impressed by the content so far!

I am a registered dietitian in the US and am looking to specialize in functional gut disorders and the low FODMAP diet. I am delighted to have found this podcast which seems logical, process oriented and evidence based. Not to mention timely with so much ~ both fact (and fiction) emerging from science and social media. Glad to be a part of the start. Way to go ladies!!
