The Last Frontier

I FEAR ... This is the last piece of work left at The BBC. That isn’t made left or gender or bi or transgender or black or woman..,, It’s cynical to think BBC hasn’t focussed on one minority group - bet it was discussed. No wonder EM left RIP BBC

Harrowing but brilliant podcast

I listened to all of this podcast over a few days whilst recovering from surgery. The evidence presented, the analysis, plus the empathic conversations Eddie Mair had with experts, victims & victims’ family members, made this one of the finest podcasts I have ever listened to. When Commissioner Dany Cotton said she wouldn’t change anything, this made me gasp out loud. Goodness knows what this was like for families hearing this devastating statement. Well done to all concerned though. It was so very well done.

Astounding podcast

Eddie Mair and team do a first rate job presenting in a balanced, empathetic and concise manner. Extremely harrowing in places and bluntly open at all times I think this is a revelation in keeping the public informed throughout a long, detailed and essential enquiry. Highly recommended. Brilliant

The way the team has put together each podcast, splicing actual evidence in with commentary is amazing. They are moving and informative. It is a shame Eddie Mair probably won’t stay on but the whole team are a credit to the BBC.

Numbering of the flats

Please repeat your explanation of how the flats were numbered; I have forgotten your explanation and remain confused. Thank you for this excellent, heartbreaking podcast.

True public service broadcasting

This has become my ( sobering) bedtime listening. It is brief but informative. Since the enquiry has on the whole dropped out of the daily news the BBC is doing its remit using newer formats. I am present daily stunned by the firefighters bravery. I can understand how the forensic questioning may initially have felt unduly harsh, but over time it is building a picture

Great concise daily summary

Have been following this podcast from the opening statements and plan to listen all the way through. It’s a great summary of the key developments from the inquiry and I listen on my daily commute. Very moving at times.

Excellent

This is public broadcasting at its best. Makes what has the potential to be a very complex enquiry easy to understand what is unfolding. This is such an important inquiry to understand and this is an excellent way to know what is happening.

Grenfell Inquiry podcast comment

Excellent production and fascinating to follow. May I just suggest that your on scene reporter hold the microphone further away to avoid the very audible intakes of breath between sentences. Thanks for the great service.
