Fascinating and illuminating

This podcast has been filling a huge gap in my historical and cultural knowledge. I thought I had a decent understanding about Islam's Golden Age and relationship to the West, but this podcast has shown me how ignorant I really was. I binged all of the available episodes in about 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to more. I've enjoyed getting to explore parts of history I had no idea about and it has been fun seeing Professor DiMeo's personality shine through over the course of the series.

Excellent

Little did I know when I typed in “Islamic Golden Age” to find something to listen to on my morning commute that I would find a gold mine—no pun intended. This podcast is detailed, balanced, nuanced, and extremely informative. I wasn’t exactly ignorant of Islamic history going in, but the little I knew was expounded on and discussed with perspectives I’d never even considered before. The narrator has several degrees in and extensive experience with the Middle East and Islam, so you know you’re getting the best you can get. Highly recommend. I hope he continues past early Islamic and Arabic history through the Ottoman Empire and today—some nuance in our discourse is desperately needed and I would love to have one source of knowledge to point to when I hear people say dumb things about current events.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Perfect! This podcast is a great (and largely unbiased) approach to Islam’s history. Topics are covered fairly and with a scholarly approach. Yet, it isn’t too heady for the average listener. Great job!
