Ground-breaking innovations hold real potential to change our lives in the foreseeable future–and not always in the ways you’d imagine. When Fidelity’s investment experts consider this potential, they look well beyond the obvious implications. “The Future According to Now” is a podcast from Atlantic Re:think, the branded content studio at The Atlantic, and Fidelity Investments. Disclaimers too long

Disclaimers at the end last too long and are out of proportion to the content which is fairly neutral anyway.

Sounds like a commercial

I’m sorry, but any time I hear a fund manager being cited as an expert in a particular field, it ALWAYS sounds like a commercial to me. If they had used someone from, say, Pimco or Templeton, it would show a little less bias on the part of Fidelity.

Love Fido and Love These

I'm a happy Fidelity (AKA Fido) customer and my wife is a happy Atlantic reader. This podcast series is a nice mash up of the two brands/worlds. I especially like hearing from the Fidelity analysts. Thanks for this.

Great!

They are kinda short but super good! Lots of interviews on the people who are making this tech. I hope more seasons will come soon as this is one of the only futuristic podcasts. They clearly worked hard on this podcast.

"...the potential to change our lives..."

This is a fascinating and well-executed podcast. Rather than relying on imagination to guess at what the world will look like in 50 years, this series is dedicated to "exploring the groundbreaking innovations that have the potential to change our lives in the foreseeable future." It deals with technology that already exists but is currently still burgeoning or entering the mainstream, but it also does much more than that. It brings up ethical questions on everything from The Trolley Dilemma to whose responsibility it will be to care for older Americans as that demographic swells, and it explains the hurdles faced by each new innovation. The content is presented professionally, and it carefully explains concepts for the unfamiliar but in a way that will keep experts from becoming bored. I also like that the length of each episode is on the shorter side, it keeps the coverage of each subject matter digestibly concise. Highly recommend this podcast to anyone.
