One Of My Essentials
I have quite the list of podcasts I listen to, and sometimes need to cut it down. But for the past 12-16 months since I’ve been listening to shows on the 5by5 network, The Frequency has remained a staple on my list.I have my serious pods and my comedy pods and other informational pods that I listen to, The Frequency is a unique one in that it’s heavily driven by the personalities of Haddie and Dan, and their passions for the latest in interesting “popular this week” news in the pop-tech world.I noticed a lot of the reviews here at the top of the “Most Helpful” filter are pretty negative, but they are also from 2012 at the start of the show. I started listening in 2013 sometime and it’s only gotten better. Most of those comments I think are outdated now that the show has been at it for quite some time, and Haddie & Dan have gotten more comfortable as they do the show.As for complaints of the infrequency (haha) of the show in certain weeks, they are people just like everyone else. If someone gets actually upset because a show is missed, they need to reevaluate their lives. My life and enjoyment does not revolve around this show getting released on time. Rarely do I hear a show the day when it’s released. But it definitely absolutely adds enjoyment when it arrives in my playlist, and even adds quality to my life depending on some of the articles and apps talked about in the show. Same goes for many other 5by5 shows. Never have I been so interested in seeing a show’s new sponsors. Anyone sponsoring The Frequency and any other 5by5 show is, I feel, part of a unique curation of quality services. I have quickly built a set of tools & services that I wouldn’t have otherwise been so quick to purchase if The Frequency and 5by5 hadn’t had them as a sponsor.
