Informative but also a little voyeuristic
This is always an informative show that covers stories with primary accounts of those affected by the story. However, sometimes they go about it in a somewhat insensitive way or in a way that is coldly observational. An example is they’ll ask an individual who is fleeing war to list all the challenges they’re facing on the spot, and then the show/hosts provides no additional commentary but instead just a “…we’ll be right back” and cuts to sponsor message…

Risk of new approach in Ukraine
Important info but Tavronese (sp?) put a spin on it with her tone as if the US is wrong, bad … basically just drama!!! That shouldn’t happen. It should be a neutral report, right? Isn’t that what journalism is about? Same style used re Afghanistan exit by Michael. Not good journalism.

Makes me think
I enjoy the podcast. As a traditional conservative, it’s good to hear the other side presented in an unemotional way. It helps me understand the thought process and shapes and sharpens my critical thinking skills. 4 stars for content; -1 star for AI reading.

I want to like it…
I really really want to like this podcast. I like the content they’re discussing, but I just can’t get past the host’s nearly constant mms, mmhmms, uhs, etc. It just beats against my ears in such a brutal way. :-(If they can coach this gentleman up or find a new host, I’d love to give it another try.

Sunday Read - Narrator
The Sunday Read is my favorite episode of the week and I listen religiously. Until this week - when I absolutely couldn’t spend even one minute with the narrator’s voice. It sounded like a terrible impersonation of a 1940s-era baseball announcer.

Progressive Propoganda
If you like what Democrats are doing in LA, NYC, Portland then this is these podcast will feed your lust to destroy America. I listened to 2 topics, one on parents helping children change their gender and a second on reforming traffic stops. In the second podcast, the producers flipped off the real cause of the unfortunate death, the fact that the driver refused to listen to the officers commands, fought with the office for control of a TASER, and wound up dead of a gunshot to the head. The podcast stated, FOR SOME REASON THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO RUN. I wonder how many of the 400 traffic stop deaths mentioned in the podcast would be alive today, IF they had simply obeyed the officer. We certainty did not get that information from the podcast.

Seattle traffic stops
This weekend there were two drivers who, in a shootout, ran around another innocent car, shooting the clear, almost losing her life. Guns are being fired on the freeways at each other. Criminals know in Seattle, you don't have to stop, and you can drive away from the police. It's created it being more dangerous for me to drive to work with crime hot spots where a lot of murders happen on the way to work

Why?
Love the show and listen to every episode Mon-Sat. BUT: why do do the Sunday Reads readers sound like robots? The article's subjects are always things I want to hear about, but the strange voice intonations cause me to turn the episodes off after a few minutes. Would be great if the authors who do the intros would read the stories.

What’s up with the robot voice?
Love the Daily, but this latest episode is unlistenable with the AI reading

Found a solution!
I nearly had to stop listening to The Daily because of the obnoxious cadence of the various hosts’ speech. It’s as though. NYT instructs hosts. To only speak. In sentences. Of two. Or three words. Devastating because the content is often interesting, but unlistenable. Fortunately I found a solution! I now use Pocket Casts instead of Apple Podcasts, and Pocket Casts allows you to “trim silence” in podcast playback. If you set it to the “Mad Max” trim level, even The Daily’s hosts are tolerable!

Unbalanced
I’ve listened to a couple podcasts and believe this news source is very one-sided.

Hmmm
Host saying hmm all the time makes the podcast less great

I listen every morning
I love this podcast. I love that it’s 30 minutes of the top news story that we need to know and I love the last minute wrap of other stories that need our attention. I’m sad Michael has been hosting a lot less, but I truly love all the guest hosts. I’ve been listening ever since I found this podcast about two years ago and can’t imagine not listening to it!

Never will I ever…
Miss a Freakonics episode. I believe that out of the 500 shows, I have listened to 496 of them. Even when the title of a show does not draw my interest, after I run out of other shows to listen to, I will go back and check out that episode and rarely have I ever been proven right in dismissing it. I can confidently suggest diving in to freakonmics. I always do
