Herbie rules

Herbie is great to listen to. Pollack is ok, maybe cut him back to one day a week.

Good content poor audio quality

I love the content and the people on the show. However it often sounds very poorly quality. Some shows sound like Kevon is recording from his bathroom or somewhere else that echoes.

Good except for Pollack

I truly enjoy this podcast for getting good information about the previous and upcoming weekends of college football. But I’m sick and tired of Pollack’s pontificating about food, employing ignorance and pseudoscience. One can enjoy food without believing it’s unhealthy. But the most important issue that he’s wasting our time yelling about his food beliefs. Who cares? Talk college football and keep his uninformed opinions to himself. I’m addition his claims that he doesn’t look at point spreads is laughable. Every fan looks at them, and his feigning ignorance is unbelievable. Period. I’d almost skip episodes with Pollack, but there’s good information about games.

Question For Herbie

Herbie,With Oregon losing in the desert and Penn St falling to OSU, is there anyway you see the committee moving Utah and Oklahoma up to 6/7 along with Baylor making a jump inside the top 10? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

1*

When this podcast was Campus Conversation I used to listen to it everyday. The Sunday podcast with Herbstreit is ok but David Pollack is insufferable. I have tried to power through but I can’t do it. Maybe next year they will go back to the old format.

We lost Campus Conversation for this sad show!?

I am at a complete loss to explain how someone at ESPN thought we should lose Ivan Maisel, et.al. and replace them with stories on how Pollack is aVegan and coaches kids, what Herbie eats for breakfast before GameDay, what Halloween costumes their kids chose this year. What!? Where are the college football conversations? I like all of these folks, and I’m sure they’re decent folks, but the podcast they have endeavored to create here is a sad commentary on not having someone there to say, “Wait, are we really doing this?”

Kevin, you read my question wrong!!!

Thank you for choosing my question - I’m honored! - but the real question for Pollack was, “If you were stranded on a desert island for a year and had to survive on three ***food items***, what would they be?” The Dude thrives without so many of the options most everyone else lives on, I’m curious what he actually couldn’t do without food-wise!Tell him to assume he somehow has the materials to make whatever he wants, like a pan to cook eggs in...and a blanket to keep him warm while he cooks ;)Again, thank you for all the considerate insights, and for just making this show fun. Love you guys, look forward to the new episodes almost as much as noon on Saturdays. Cheers!

Update to my Review

3 to 5 Stars!Kevin, I spoke too soon below. Well done personalizing this podcast. The Coach Corso part with Herbie was priceless. Please keep working hard to bring in all the greats including coaches too. Thanks you for the time and effort. Old review:Love Herbie and Pollack. They’ve played the game and I trust them. Please move on from Kevin. Fitz was much better at pitching to Herbie (and being deferential to Herbie’s background). The truth is I don’t need a pure broadcaster (no FB experience) arguing with Pollack. It just doesn’t sit well. Kevin, you’re a great broadcaster but I think you shine in College FB Live where opinions are left to the panel. Also, Please bring back Campus Conversation. Thank you!

Easily the best sports podcast.

Question for Herbie - We all know about your guys’ bets with The Bear, but do you ever talk with/make friendly bets with family or friends on game days? (I’ve got an uncle who still owes me a twelve pack of IPAs for Purdue putting up 20 on Iowa but still losing!)Question for Pollack - If you were stranded on a desert island for a year and had to survive on three food items, what would they be?Finally, question for Kevin - What’s one life lesson you think football in particular teaches kids better than others?*****Thanks for what you do with this show!!! Love your guys’ banter and superlative insight, even though y’all have been dogging on my Hawkeyes lately. Kevin has a way of structuring his thoughtful questions such that it brings out the best in Kirk’s opinions on the landscape of the sport, and David’s deep reservoir of tactical knowledge...yet somehow it still feels like sitting in on a lighthearted, REAL conversation between friends rather than a stilted, TV-produced segment. You guys deserve your own live show; please never lose this ethos and chemistry, though! Would also love to hear you guys do some bonus episodes discussing/ranking historical teams, breaking down past unforgettable games, and memories which led you to become dedicated to college football. Again, though...thank you for being the best show out there.

Love getting to hear Herbie every week, and Pollack is great too. Kevin is a perfect host. Herbie’s insight into the College Gameday site selection process was gold.

Complete Crap

This podcast is complete crap. What an amazing steaming pile of junk. I have listened to this pod for a decade now dating back to the time of Ivan and Beno, the version of the podcast that was the best. Now, this Kevin joker is completely horrible on radio, please get him off. Kirk is Kirk and great. David also awful on radio. Bring back the real analysts from the last few seasons like Heather D and others. And now you’re soliciting five star reviews in order to ask questions online? What happened to walk ons? This show has turned into an awful heap of junk. Please return to the old show.

Pollack is quite... well, nothing

This podcast proves one thing. Between parenting and football, or dieting or constant use of “bro” and “dude” David Pollack is convinced the world not only listens but WANTS his advice. By the way... while typing this review I think Pollack used the word “literally” 9 more times.

Question for Herbie

Is Wisconsin really this good or are they just playing teams with horrendous offenses and their first “real” offensive test will be at Ohio State?

On On Game Day!

I love Herbie and Pollacks enthusiasm & insight around college ball. Kevin does great job pulling this out/ setting the conversation. It like talking ‘Ball’ with friends ... if your friends had great insight to share. They have such an appreciation for the game it draws you in.Question for Herbie: he’s met so many college coaches, seen facilities, universities & towns: How/ Why did his sons choose Clemson? What advice does Herbie have for parents, families and athletes in recruiting?

Quote for Herbie

Hi Herbie, big fan, what do you think makes every week of college football so amazing. The fans, atmosphere, or players. For me it’s the importance of every week, needing to win. Thanks.Shane(14)
