Not the Stephen King podcast you’re looking for

This was a short lived podcast and I can see why. Both host are very annoying, pretentious, and try incredibly hard to sound like they have something insightful and interesting to say. The show is ironically titled The Castle Rock TV Podcast, yet it really isn’t about Castle Rock the show (and yes I get that the first season wasn’t out yet at the time of recording). Instead both host basically spend about 2/3 of the time dumping all over Stephen King classics like Salem’s Lot and IT. There are MUCH better options out there than this if you’re looking for a good, Stephen King centric podcast.

Once and Future KING

A fantasticly entertaining, interesting, and King educational podcast with two dynamic and likeable hosts with well-researched information and compelling opinions. I'd highly recomend it for fans of Stephen King, his movies, or his books. After listening to the first episode I was hooked. I've listened to all available episodes this week and even watched the Hulu show 11.22.63 so I can now listen to their previous podcast.

Stellar

I started listening to these guys on their previous podcast (11/22/63: An Event Podcast, check it out if you haven't) and was thrilled when they announced they were going to be jumping into Castle Rock. There are a lot of Stephen King podcasts out there these days and most of them are pretty awful. These guys do it right, and manage to keep it funny and engaging. The production is top notch. They have strong opinions on all kinds of aspects of King's work and back them up very intelligently. If you're a King fan, this podcast is a must.

New listener. Love it!

It's been a few years since I've listened to a podcast, but I've been looking for new ones that feature in depth discussions. This has been an absolute pleasure to listen to. Love the hosts and am considering listening to their other podcast soon.

Adapting "IT" does not lessen other versions.

I have been listening to all your episodes in a binge at work. I'm a new listener to your podcast. I enjoy the content especially the "long" discussions and perspectives. In my own experience with Stephen King, when any media is "adapting" from a source material like one of his stories it will always be different [Shakespeare did this quite a lot with the source material he drew from], I have no issues where I do not like watching The IT miniseries or the new movie. Because story telling can go through different retellings of the same story depending on who is retelling it. If the mini series wasn't done this new movie would not be produced. Just like the fan boys of Star Wars that often feel the story should follow this detail because it's "cannon". I never have any issue with any adaption. Think about the "Stand" and that mini series still is watched. Looking forward to Salem's Lot. The movie adaption that Rob Lowe stared in was a TV movie from TNT. - Thanks for the work you guys put in. - J. Michael.

High Intellect Commentary on King

I am all in with these two guys. Incredible show, they have some of the best back and forth dialogue of any podcast I've listened to. Most thoughtful and thorough analysis of King's work. Would definitely reccommend. Gets me psyched for Castle Rock and to read more King.

Absolute Pleasure!

First off, I am here because of Chris Stuckmann and I thank him every minute I listen to these two. They are brilliantly funny. Listening to two people talk about IT and particularly near the end of the book with the "kid party." Not going to lie, threw up a little in my mouth because of that last sentence. Anyway, these guys are great and they need to put out more content about Stephen King and his work. You gentlemen have gained a disciple and I can't wait for more.
