Bills. Beats. Blaine Gabbert.

The Bills Beat is my go to Buffalo Bills podcast- has been for years. Never miss an episode! Joe and Matt present insightful takes and thoughtful discussion on all things Bills related.Bonus points go to co-host Matt Fairburn, who like many of us (aka The Silent Majority) believe that Blaine Gabbert is an under appreciated football god. Thank you Matt for your participation in the struggle against the “Never-Gabberts.”

Buffalo Beat

I never miss Joe and Matt each week on the BB. This episode week was one of the best since the draft. Evaluating who get paid has so many twist and turns. You guy did a great job. It will be extremely interesting to see how thing may work out in the next couple of years.

Apathetic

This podcast could be great, but these guys are two of the most apathetic and pessimistic people I’ve ever heard talk about football. They’re knowledgeable and smart, yet I can’t stand listening to them. They should stick to writing, or seriously practice your delivery and how you come across to a passionate fanbase.

Disappointing

Used to love listening to this show. Can’t make it through a show anymore. These guys have become more arrogant every year.

Disappointed in their narrative

I've been listening to this duo for the whole season (longer really) and normally they are somewhat level headed ... but going off on a 2nd year quarterback with no previous post season experience for almost 30 minutes and not holding the whole Oline responsible that Josh was running for his life and that there were many plays were his receivers did him no help is rediculous ... so much for thinking about an Athletic subscription ... they will need to do much better before I ever think of paying a dime to listen to this cr*p

The best

Why do you guys think Dabol is getting head coaching hype when the offense really hasn’t been that impressive? And there has been no mention of Leslie Frazier, he’s been great since day 1.

Great Podcast

One of my go-to podcasts for Bills, quite possibly the best. Usually a podcast is available late evening after a gsme or very early the next AM.

Used to be a must listen....

But lately it’s been like a bucket of cold water and I can’t even get through a full show. I used to enjoy the insight and analysis but now it seems that both guys find the smallest things to nit pick at and blow out of proportion. It’s become more like fans on Twitter than beat writers that cover the team.

What a PODCAST should be

Besides Fairburn sounding like a depressed Ben Stein it’s the best POD available. Joe B keeps it real and the awards are a great way to close the show.

The "Best" Buffalo Bills Podcast

The Buffalo Beat podcast is hosted by The Athletic Bills beat writers, Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn. What works is the chemistry between the hosts (and friends), who bring complimentary modes of analysis: where Joe emphasizes analytics (think: poor man's Bill Barnwell), Matt brings knowledge from his locker room reporting, taking a more conservative approach with his emphasis on coachspeak like "culture" and "responsibility" (think: poor man's Skip Bayless). What does not work are the attempts at humor and bits. There is "C'mon Darlene" (a gentrified version of ESPN's classic "C'mon Man" segment); there are also the weekly awards, which somehow manage to venerate Matt Barkley (yet there is somehow no Nathan Peterman award) while punching down meanly at targets like Dri Archer (who played 20 career games). What Joe and Matt lack on the production side of podcasting, they largely makeup for by bringing a great deal of knowledge about the Billls and passion for sports reporting. This is, in my opinion, the "best" Bills podcast - although as the choices are meager that does not mean as much as it might.
