Christian agrarians will enjoy this show

Humility is a virtue. In the era of self proclaimed experts cranking out content to make a buck (whether they are qualified to speak authoritatively or not), it is refreshing to hear a podcaster admit his limits and reveal mistakes alongside sharing knowledge. The host has a comical, upbeat, self deprecating approach that puts newbies and wannabe farmers at ease while trying to figure out how to make a living in the sustainable ag world. God calls us to be good stewards of the land. This podcast helps us relearn how.

Awesome Podcast for Farmers!

I am a newly appointed Ranch hand on a grass fed, beef farm on Long Island, NY. I am so glad I found this podcast so I can learn all the hard lessons and keep myself out of trouble. My dream is to have a ranch myself one day and this podcast has been a huge help in planning for the future as well as helping me now at my new job. Thanks for the awesome information you share and for coming back. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us beginning farmers!

Great, humble, and entertaining

This is one of my favorite podcasts on farming! Ethan is real and very humble in his approach to sharing his experience with us. It’s been great to listen along as Ethan has grown and all he has been through on the farm. I love when he releases a new episode and am always thankful.

Loving this podcast!

I'm at the VERY beginning stages of seriously considering starting a farm and this podcast makes my dream seem so much more realistic. The thought of starting a farm (from absolutly no farming experience other than my small backyard garden) is extremely intimidating, but Ethan makes it seem like a realistic goal. The Beginning Farmer show is a great resource and Ethan's sharing of the good and the bad of his experience is priceless. Highly recommended for anyone considering starting a small farm.

Realistic, motivational, educational

This is my absolute favorite podcast. Ethan is genuine, shares the good and the bad of farming, and even keeps me entertained. Although my farm is somewhat different (grassfed dairy), I find Ethan's insights, ideas, and "lessons learned " helpful and inspirational. I especially like how he explains not just a decision he has made on the farm, but his thought process in coming to that decision. Thank you!

Relatable

I'm new to podcasts and I'm glad yours is one of the first ones I found! I'm a beginning farmer myself and I really enjoy hearing your hard lessons learned and all your other topics. I only made it through about ten of your episodes so far. I can totally relate to some of the things you talk about like getting enough hay for winter (I'll be falling short this year, ha), how projects don't happen till you make time for them (built a coop for my ducks, but took two years to put a fence up around it) and many more. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to hear more about your farm and experiences!

Starting to fizzle

End of 2016 and things have started to fizzle out. If Ethan says he is "humbled" by this or that one more time, i might barf.

Sherlock reference gets a rating!

My husband and I have been listening to your podcast for at least a year, from our 15 acres in rural SW North Dakota, and find every single podcast to be super relatable and helpful! The highs, the lows, the wondering why the crap are we even doing this?! It was this podcast that gave us the guts to start our own very small hog operation. But when I heard the "mind palace" reference, I just knew I had to log on and leave a rating because it's not often that I experience Sherlock and farming fandom crossover. 😂 Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into this, Ethan! Especially appreciate the effort you put into your sound and recording quality!
