Loving the laughter

Love the laughter from back of the commentary box. Makes you feel like they are one team, are just like us, and you the listener are being admitted inside.

Consistently excellent

TMS on the radio always managed to get the balance between sports commentary and entertainment spot on. The TMS podcast continues that tradition which allows me to follow cricket in a way that feels familiar despit living on the other side of the planet. Long live TMS!

Where have all the regulars gone??

Where have all the regulars gone??!.... Vaughany, Tuffers, Swann, Cook, Henry Moeran..... i like Vic Marks but he can drone away a bit without saying much and Finn, nice guy that he is, isnt cut out for it.... i suspect theres some pay issue / contract dispute going on - if so, for Gods sake BBC, dig into your pockets and sort it out!.... TMS is a flagship broadcast for the BBC, podcast and all..... treasure it and pay the money the good commentators (listed above) deserve

Love it

Test match special is a staple in the radio world and it’s getting pretty big in the podcast world I love how it doesn’t just focus on England cricket and gives quality insights into the game we all love

Laughter?

Annoying persistent laughter from the back of the comms box. Please stop, as you are not part of the relationship between the excellent commentators and the listener. Otherwise, good to hear Aggers again and fine contributions from Finn and Ramps.

Too slow, too much filler now

This used to be a straightforward informative and factual review of a days play recorded at the end of commentary and put our quickly. That excellent journalism is still in there but now with added filler about Steven Finns pants or something else entirely unconnected to cricket. And this has slowed down delivery to BBC sounds etc. After an overnight overseas test days play you want to wake up and catch up with it on the way to work. Not wait til dinner time or later!

TMS is great, some of their features less so.

The reviews of the days play is second to none, and is the soundtrack to every summer. Some of the features, such as a particularly insipid hour long advert for the lambasted hundred are poor though.

County supporters

The championship roundup by TMS was superb. I wish there was more on the BBC about championship cricket. Good work TMS I love hearing about the county game, whatever the ECB say, it’s still the lifeblood of the English game

Essential Listening

I’ve listened to TMS for a very long time and it’s brilliant to be able to download the podcasts and listen on the go. Aggers, Boycott, Vic Marks, Tuffers and the rest really are essential listening, it’s what English summers are made for.

Thank you for a great summer

All summer you’ve been with us and ignited our family’s love again. We drove through France for 5 hours back home during the final day of Stokes’ match in Headingley and listened to TMS the whole way. We feel you are part of our family! Missing cricket already..

What would I do without you?

TMS is a constant for me throughout the summer, something I can’t live without. I am sure, however, that the team is constantly striving to improve, aren’t we all? The gorgeous Mr T does say ‘you know what I mean’ a lot... a lot of people have hooks or phrases that they repeat, and once aware you can do something about it. As we are now sadly listening to the last Ashes test, thank you to all at TMS for another brilliant English summer

Poor Insight and Repetitive

Having listened to TMS for years and loved this amazing summer of cricket I think it is a shame the likes of Jonathan Agnew and Michael Vaughan are so reactionary and generally negative about the cricket that has been played. Rather than criticise the batting why not praise the bowling. I also wish they’d understand lots of us listen loads and so many of their stories are so repetitive. Bored to death about hearing about Agnew’s short and failed test career. Time for new and more insightful voices. Love Jeff Lemon and Jim Maxwell, their love and knowledge of the game shines through.

Top stuff

I am a fan of cricket because of TMS! Aggers and the team bring the game to life and are great company throughout the days and weeks of turmoil following England. And.... they like cake.... #metoo!

Irreplaceable

I have Sky tv yet find myself more and more opting to follow the cricket on the radio as, to put it simply, the pictures are better. The presenters are knowledgable, often witty and so fair to both teams. I don’t think I could cope if Geoffrey or Aggers ever decide to pack it in, they must somehow be saved for the nation!
