Used to be great but now is political
Loved the old, unbiased content. Now the political leanings show through and many one aided stories are presented
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsGood Content. Terrible Sound Effects
Love the content of the podcast but the sound effects are so distracting. The cloning episode had the Dracula Organ at least 20 times not to mention the constant suspenseful music. The editor went trigger happy with the sound effects and it almost makes it unbearable. Love the doc and the content but man is it tough the listen at times because of the sound effects.
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsTake out the sound effects, please!!’
I love this show but all the sound effects are very loud, annoying and distracting and I regularly choose to listen to something else just because of the sound. Thank you!!

Great story telling and interesting medical knowledge packed into a concise format. Please keep making more!
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsWell done, well presented.
Very interested to hear more breakdown of the Medicare for all bill, all topics seem to be well-researched and properly represented. Can’t wait for more of the anesthesia stories too!
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsFascinating!!
This is one of favorite podcasts. I’m fascinated by medicine. Although I have little knowledge of physiology, this podcast is very friendly to people who is not working in medical field. No medical jargons, easy to understand, entertaining, and informative! The host is very knowledgeable and also explain things very well. Must listen and subscribe!!!

It is obvious that this is fraudulent, as it used the typical format the public is brainwashed with. Authorities, noble titles, overly well formatted (tries to hard)and mocks non prominent ppl for believing or challenging standard theory. It’s motivation and purpose is not conversation, debate or real sciences just a doctor asking other doctors in so called prominent positions what they believe it is do rehearsed and sad. “It is a coincidence that Autism shows up age the when MMR IS given” this is for brainwashed fools to agree or be confused. It won’t convince intelligent ppl.

I stumbled on this show from the suggestions feature in the Apple app and am glad I did. I love it. The episode about Dr. Sweeny learning how to do a spinal injection was fascinating storytelling (although sometimes the sound effects are a bit much, like an annoying kid brother trying to startle you). I do not have a medical or healthcare background so a story about how training happens is illuminating. The recent episode about the ethically questionable surgical “firsts” is a real eye opener too. Great work, Dr. Sweeny. Glad you’re doing it!

Decrying the unfairness of doping tests for multimillionaire athletes while saying a coal miner is just whining when they seek pain relief even though both other their careers depend on putting their bodies on the line. BTW yes, there is a group of individuals who are tested for otherwise legal substances like marijuana, be subject to testing at any time and have to inform others of their whereabouts 24-7: the military.

Dr. Sweeny's show is a fantastic introduction to current medical issues for a lay audience. I write primarily to suggest that, in the episode with Dr. Lembke (addressing opioid addiction), the discussion around the medicalization of poverty (specifically the idea of disability, welfare as a crutch, &ct) was intellectually limited and painfullly antiquated. It suggested that perhaps the discussing clinicians lacked understanding of the actual experience of their poorer clients. Understandable - often physicians come from fairly well-to-do backgrounds, so may not 'know what they don't know', but startling, given that Lembke heads Addiction at Stanford and likely works with low SES people frequently. Since there was an interesting kernel of truth in the discussion, I was disappointed to see it devolve into a charicature of the poor drawn from a bygone social era.
