Amazing people, doing amazing things!

I have learned SO much from these two. My family and I are developing our permaculture site and have found this podcast informative, enjoyable, and well done. I am also in the midst of taking a permaculture design certificate course, and have found this podcast to be a good balance. It’s obvious that they are passionate about what they’re doing and work very well together. You could not accomplish everything they have without each other & the support of their family. Someone commented that Stacy talks over Amy & is disrespectful to her- I’ve never noticed that. I’ve always thought they were extremely polite and respectful of each other. They each have their strong suits, and compliment each other well. They sound like people I’d like to be friends with who are doing simply amazing things! This is a must-listen-to if interested in the topic of permaculture.

Invaluable...with a caveat :)

As someone who is starting our own “Beyond Organic” farm and homestead, I cannot begin to calculate the value of this podcast. I discovered this a couple months ago and have since listened to every episode from the beginning. Being able to fast forward through an honest account of the first years of starting a truly sustainable farm/homestead is simply invaluable. And coming from an entertaining couple that clearly have love and respect for each other makes it refreshing and that much easier to listen to.The only caveat were a couple of instances where they made energy efficiency recommendations for existing homes, which occasionally were unintentionally mis-leading. To be clear, I would absolutely recommend them for consulting on a passive solar build; they know their stuff and are living it. However, there are a LOT of factors that come into play when changing an existing home (climate, age/construction, current conditions, lifestyle, etc). You can damage your home taking suggestions out of context. Find a Building Analyst or Home Performance contractor in YOUR area, then take Stacy’s advice and make sure they have real experience and are living it themselves — Please keep up the great work guys. It is truly inspiring.

Informational

I am picky with podcasts; I don't like to listen to a lot of chit-chat and introductions. These two get right to it. They are conversational and fun, yet they do gove a lot of great information about propogation, soil-building, what works for them, etc. I like the specifics that they give, such as what plants are loved by chickens and what tree species are good for firewood. It is great to hear their mistakes too! They love permaculture so much, it makes me want to get out and grow something! :)
