    It Means Well

I started out unsure about this podcast from season one. I thought season 2 picked up a lot, then it - well, it's just been bumpy and midway through season 4 I have given up. I am really sorry for the abuse that people go through. It is far too common. That said, these stories are in desperate need of editing. I do prefer narrative podcasts to those of interview style, but there are other podcasts that manage to edit the interviews without (I'm hoping/assuming!) losing the impact of the commentary. The host also interjects herself way too much. "I'm so sorry." She's beginning to sound like Olivia Benson in every episode of Law & Order: SVU. We know the host cares because she has put this podcast together precisely so these stories are told. Season 5 is the end for me. It just drags and drags. I was put off initially too by the fact that it was an audiochuck production, but glad to see she's changed hosts.

    Fake

These stories are so obviously fake. But it had me hooked in the beginning bc I was like “goodness me this is unbelievable”. Then I realized it really is unbelievable bc, it’s all either heavily doctored, or fake. Somewhere in there, a story may be true. But then I think she took that audience captivation and ran with it. I unsubbed before the alleged political episodes/ads, but reading about that in other reviews makes me sad. It seems disrespectful to the alleged victims. Which may be another reason I think it’s all fake. Otherwise how could you do that ?

    Good but could be better

I enjoy listening to this podcast however the host sounds awkward and says the same “I’m so sorry “ im every episode. It seems fake and she sounds like she really isn’t into the story!

    There’s a common thread to these…

I’ve listened on and off for about a year, and it really is a compelling podcast highlighting first-person experiences. But, it seems a lot of these victims are religious and use their faith as a reason for why they continued to dismiss super obvious red flags. “But he went to church” “but he loves god”. As an atheist, it’s incredibly infuriating to listen to, but entertaining nonetheless.

I love the host. I think she’s great! I’ve listened to almost every season. Maybe I have too much past animosity to deal with with some of the stories, but I’d like to say (while I I completely understand trauma and mental health-boundaries-accountability) it’s hard for me when ppl don’t take others trauma for what it’s worth, there’s a few stories in season 13 that make me wonder who are these ppl and why are they so pressed. Many of the stories are overwhelming and hurtful and I fell complete empathy for them, but others seem so petty! Like I said- this of course is my interpretation of what I’m hearing from those “victims” but Tiffany is great- it’s just that of u have a severe traumatic past it may not be worth while to listen to some of these ppl vent about “their most traumatic experience”. I feel like I’m “trauma shaming” and while I’m not trying to- and I realize these are their experiences- it’s compelling to me how some of the “guests” can fathom compiling an email after hearing some of these horrific stories. Nonetheless, I hope Emily continues doing the work and telling the stories- bc I’m sure they all resonate with someone- hence why I’m still on board with 5 stars ⭐️

You have to pay a subscription to pay another subscription

The subscriptions are getting outta hand. Also, so tired of the same ads, which take up a quarter of the time per episode. Lots of recorded phone convos. I want to like it, I relate to content, but losing me with the subscriptions and low quality phone conversations.

    Good, but not without issues

I have a love hate relationship with this podcast. Some of the stories are excellent and well told. It really depends on the season. Then you have some stories that are just born out of pure stupidity. The Mae episode especially is a reach. Not all bad relationships make you a victim and sometimes the accountability falls on both sides. This podcast can sometimes do a disservice to actual victims and should have stricter standards for the stories they tell. The Mae episode in particular is downright insulting to actual victims. She is a willing participant in her circumstances. The woman straight told her to google her name and she just decided she didn’t want to know anything and stuck around, ignoring her life for no reason. Tory is a crap person but Mae isn’t a victim, she’s just stupid.

    Affirming and Relatable

This podcast gives survivors a chance to tell their story. I enjoy the spin on true crime where the stories are directly from the survivors. The stories are very relatable and help others feel not so alone in what they have been through or are going through. I appreciate the awareness this podcast brings to different forms of abuse. Great work, keep it up.

    Left wing nonsense

Was really enjoying the podcast itself and listening to the guest’s stories but then the host has to make political comments that are completely irrelevant to the stories. She just loves to get her opinion in. Gross. Won’t support her left wing agenda. Maybe she should go live in China and try out how she likes Communism.

    Could be me

Sometimes I listen and think “ good heavens! How could you not see that? How can you be so naive? Then I remember the things I have done, choices I made, the evil that I allowed in my life. Almost every story could have been me but for the grace of God! I do wish the F-bomb wasn’t used. Clearly Tiffany and the guests are educated and intelligent. English language has so many words that can be used without the F-bomb.

Love the show even when the story is frustrating

I’m working backwards and with each episode I love this podcast more. The podcaster/interviewer is absolutely excellent. I wish I could be as informed and calm as a journalist. Just know you’ll be frustrated sometimes (as you’ll see in other reviews) with the victim. Why didn’t they call CPS if they witnessed sibling abuse? Why didn’t they report the animal abuse? Why did they wait until their child was traumatized to leave? Why did they allow other people to be roped in by this con artist? Unanswered questions are part of these stories. And we should think long and hard about them.

    Morons claim to be victims

"I'm so very incredibly sorry" that the weak and the stupid are held up as saints by the lazy ghost who does nothing but let these idiots drone on about their own stupidity. Is everyone under 40 at least 25 yrs. behind developmentally?

    Sociopath Finds Narcissist Madness Abounds

The premise is a good one, but I won't be listening beyond Season 1. Very poor sound quality and other production values. Reading from a textbook does not substitute for interviewing a psychologist. The "victim" seems to enjoy the attention brought on by her very bad decisions. Here's the deal...she got out of a very dangerous relationship, thank goodness. Too many episodes filled with self-indulgent ramblings.

SWW Podcast is irresponsible and should be taken down

This one one of the most irresponsible podcasts I’ve listened to. It’s full of mental health buzzwords and topics of serious mental health disorders to get you hooked, but the problem is that the host is not a trained professional nor are the guests. In S13 Odessa victim shames a teenager who was groomed by her pedophilic and sex addicted husband. Throughout all seasons the host and guests throw out words that attempt to diagnose the people they’re telling stories about. The creator of the podcasts deletes comments/reviews that disagree with her, yet she claims to be a safe space for discussion. The storytelling is irresponsible and should not be able to be released.

    Amelia

I want to love this podcast, however, I literally lose my mind screaming and cursing EVERY time these women (the last few stories I’ve listened to, sadly all women heavily involved in “Christianity “) take back these horrific, abusive men!!!! That whole first time shame on you… well I get it takes a while for the wheels to fall off in live, marriage, and when you have children. It also should be ALL the more reason to keep those boundaries (children). Hopefully people listen and are a little less codependent, as in preemptive, from this podcast.

    Must Listen

This is my favorite podcast. Keeps you interested and done really well. Everyone should listen to ALL seasons. People always believe “that would never happen to me” or “ I can’t believe they let that happen to them”. IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. Guard your heart.
