    Please.

Get rid of that loud, off key, song at the beginning of your show. I try to FF past it, but always end up clipping the first few seconds of the guest speaker, and am left to either accept that I missed the first few seconds, or force myself to go back and listen to the tail end of the stupid song. Did you lose a bet or something? Your cousin’s band? Jesus it’s just so irritating! It doesn’t even mesh with your show. Makes no sense at all.

    Guests Stalk Discussion Pages

If you have any concerns or negative feelings towards the host or guests you will be bullied online. The host has gone out of her way to message women who have voiced concerns. One season had an episode about a woman “hog tying” an intoxicated woman. Someone said before, stories are one-sided. One of the guest’s wife’s “Darcy” has voiced the show’s host, Tiffany Reese, never reached out to her. But felt it was important to have other people tell her story without consent. The host leaves out important details constantly. When their is confusion or criticism on the online discussion forums you will be strongly criticized by guests. You will ultimately be disappointed after each episode.

    excruciating

Insight into the dangers of having really low self esteem and encountering an abuser. Hard to listen to them repeatedly partner with this demon to their own demise.

    ONE OF MY FAVORITES

some of these reviews are crazy because I think this podcast is sooooo good. Tiffany does a great job of being sensitive to the guest but she can also be funny with her dry/sarcastic sense of humor. I do enjoy the seasons where they focus on one story more than the individual stories, but the individual stories are also pretty good. Overall, it’s a really great podcast.

Have to stop reading social media

Reading instagram stories? Why are we talking about reading social media? The person talking about choosing to participate in this stuff has the key. Get completely blocked off. No matter what you have to do. Move to Timbuktu

    Needs some work

Used to love this show but eventually it’s all anti church and cult segments. Additionally, half of the recent seasons are her reading from literature for fifteen minutes which is obnoxious. By the time we get to recounts and stories, there’s like 13 mins left and she talks so fast in some of those it makes my head hurt. If you are trying to avoid losing content in an episode don’t talk half of it reading word for word out of a textbook. Summarize the research in less than five minutes and MOVE ON! Used to love this show but has really been awful lately.

    Constructive Criticism from a fan

I discovered SWW just before it joined Wondery, and I was really excited because I loved season 13. I am frustrated by season 14 so far and wanted to leave constructive feedback. This season has been difficult to follow- please make an effort to recap previous episodes or release them all at once or the story becomes just all over the place. I also feel it makes listeners lose the message/mission of the podcast- that anyone can find themselves victim to an abusive person. Because the story is hard to follow and feels disjointed it seems just more salacious and I really wish a bigger message/through line had been introduced already. The thing that’s the most special about this show to me is women who “should” be suspicious of each other actually coming together to out an abuser and protect other women, and this season is a great example of that. But no bigger theme of this has been really discussed/explored and we’re well in. I’m just not sure what listeners are getting out of this season, sadly. Also I wish the host+team would finally take listener feedback on how universally irritating the intro song is, as well as the long psychology talk at the beginning of episodes. If you want to include the information about abuse tactics I would recommend having actual therapists/professionals come on and provide information that ties in the story and what listeners should be learning from it

    Some good some bad

This podcast is so-so. A lot of dragging on and on and repeating things. Season 14 is crazy, but I’m sorry Melissa is an idiot. Interesting story though.

    Meh

Some seasons are significantly better than others. I’ve listened since day 1. Some are “everyday” occurrences and unworthy of a full episode. If 14 is dedicated to Jake then ‘what a waste’, he wasn’t the only one making continuous bad decisions. I’ll be back for season 15, maybe.

All seasons are great except season 14

Don’t let this current season discourage your from listening. I’ve been hooked on this show for the past year. Very empowering and well put together. I’ve learned so much! Season 14, however, seems very very repetitive and could likely have been summed up in 1-2 episodes.

    Enough about Jake!

These women let this man see their children alone after clearly abusing them! The entire story is a mess and embarrassing.

    riveting semi-autobiographical storytelling

I’ve listened to hundreds of podcasts over the last 10 years since I discovered this medium of storytelling. Not all have been “true crime” (I’d argue this one is on the gray area edges of that genre and is more like pure first-person sources biographical / semi-autobiographical storytelling). The host here is doing something really special on this one. She doesn’t really filter anything, which I appreciate. I’ve listened to every season. The host let’s the guests tell their stories in a way that makes most sense to them. It’s not a Q&A as much as it is serial episodic stories, so if you have trouble LISTENING to people tell their own stories and need some hand-holding via a Q&A style pod, this one might be too much for you. It takes concentration to listen to people tell their stories of victimhood. Lives are messy, and the stories in this podcast are not straightforward. It’s not a passive listener activity. Listening to victims also takes deep courage.

    Something was wrong !?!

This is such a lame season. There are so many men in this world just like this guy. What is it about him that makes these women keep going back for more??? Just say no girls! He isn’t even good looking and his personality is gross. You all needed to go to therapy if you couldn’t get past him on date ONE.
