I really love hearing Shannon’s Homemade Stories. I like to hear his take on issues and to hear about his life experiences. I dropped off for a bit cause my phone can’t hold as many podcasts as it used to but I’m back and catching up now. This newest episode about his top five hip hop artists got me hooked back in. I started listening to your stories after hearing you on snap judgment. I think you have a unique style of story telling. My favorite so far is The X in the Sebring. I was driving home and I’m thought I would have an accident because I was laughing so hard. Another thing is your stories relate to my life growing up and I feel like culturally black people are the same no matter where we’re raised. Finally listening to your stories is helping me find my voice and write things down. Keep doing your thing. Tracey
Shannon, your stories keep me thinking, guessing, laughing, and definitely listening. The depth of your scenarios give us the purest insight to your thoughts and actions. Thank you for being transparent at all times.
Shannon brings a special thing to these stories. No two are the same. Some are funny, some are sad and then some are just Wow! Beer speaks people mumble (Lagunitas) but you won’t hear Shannon mumble. Rather you will hear the heart and soul and life told in a way that will captivate and provide a driveway moment to remember. Thank you for your work.
I started listening to Shanon after spotting him on an episode of the Moth! I haven’t missed an episode of any of his work since. He’ a natural and makes his work seem effortless. When he’s in NY at B & H Photo., I’m always there to listen to more stories! If you love to listen, then Homemade stories will be music to your ears!
Shannon’s stories combine genuine raw experience with a chilled out understanding that can only come from a lifetime of conversations with strangers. Listening to his voice is relaxing, even when the stories themselves are raw or tense. Homemade Stories is like having a great conversation at the bar with the only friendly local in a new town. Give it a listen.
I recently came up on the podcast and have been listening everyday on my commute to and from work. This was my first storytelling podcast I listened to and I love it! I appreciate the vulnerability and honesty. Look forward to more seasons!
