3 things I’d like to do

1- cup a fart and throw it in Rory’s. Then listen to him talk about it in an enlightened and nuanced way for about 45 minutes2- try to grate a block of cheese on chinch’s chin3- hear the guy that’s not these two or the host actually speak and contribute something to the show

Love it

I listen to a lot - a whole lot, like way too many - football podcasts and, outside of my Arsenal podcasts, this is my favorite. Clever, funny, and insightful content from 4 highly entertaining friends.

Insightful, enjoyable

Great podcasts about different aspects of the game, with a heavy focus on the Premier League. Four very knowledgeable Brits with different roles—Hugh Ferris moderates; think of that almost cool teacher who is also a bit of a try-hard. Andy Hinchcliffe, former player; think of the kid everyone in class picks on but likes because he lets them take the piss out of him. Rory Smith NY Times writer and class blabbermouth. A real Chatty Cathy. Steve Wyeth quiet kid in the back of the room who you forget is there until he says something really smart or insightful

Favorite Football Podcast

Just love this podcast. Unlike all of the weekly recaps, the four friends talking football over food provide insightful and humorous takes on current topics as well as interesting, less-covered aspects of the sport.

The winning formula of sports podcasts

Hugh, Rory, Chinch and Steve's round table-style dines and discussions provide listeners with the perfect backdrop for football discussion. Whether discussing abstract concepts or contemporary issues in the current football landscape, their respective backgrounds in the professional game, friendly dynamic and candid, opinionated takes make for an informative and highly entertaining podcast, week-in, week-out.

My favorite podcast

I look forward to listening to Set Piece Menu every week. The discussion is entertaining and informed and each of the four brings a unique perspective. I really like that the podcast looks at the big picture surrounding football (soccer for us Americans) instead of just following the daily news. But the main reason I enjoy it so much is due to their friendship. It reminds me of when my close friends from college and I get together and have lunch. The warmth and camaraderie that Hugh, Andy, Rory and Steve enjoy is palpable. They are truly four friends who just happen to love football and make their living in the media surrounding it.

Soccer pod that entertains and enlightens

Four friends discuss a soccer-related topic every week. Each brings their own unique perspective to a fun and funny conversation. They avoid the usual recap structure and instead focus on broader issues with nuggets of history. Like talking soccer with your smartest friends, but without them taking it too seriously. It is British-centric, but they add context for non-UK listeners. And lots of clever and funny moments. Great weekly listen.
