Best of 2019
Like other great scammers of yore, I hope Laci Mosley gets everything she deserves: Coins. Checks. Wire transfers. Old wines. Rotting umbrellas from the titanic. She brings us old scams. New scams. Classic scams. Scams that might get you thinking “I could do that. I SHOULD do that.” This podcast was filed under business but could also be career development, financial planning, life coaching. For me it’s all three. I’m basically mainlining episodes, taking notes and wondering how much to charge the anointed to water their plants in the rapture, because I’m clearly not going to be among them. Despite all the immorality central to the topic, Mosley’s respect and passion for the art of the scam is pure and joyful. The pace of the show is perfect- never a dull moment- and the guests are all on board to dig into the quality of scams as well as the mindsets of the victims and perpetrators. The host has a lot of charisma (important for any scammer!) and it feels like a fun room to be in. And because I’m a librarian I have to give credit where it’s due- the research is solid! These are deep dives. It’s just a well produced, well executed podcast by a brilliant, funny host on a fascinating topic. 5 stars or 2 million coinbits, whichever is more.
