Between the years of 1996-2014, an unusually high number of women have fallen victim to disappearances and murders along the Route 29 corridor in Virginia calling the suspect the... Route 29 Stalker.

I’ve binge listened to this podcast in 2 days!

I absolutely commend you for what you are trying to do. I think you’re really on to something with that auto place and the 30 day tags. I’m glad you are feeling better and really looking forward to season 2! Great job! Let’s find this SOB!

Good content, poor delivery

The stories are fascinating but the delivery is not the best. The episodes are short and consist mostly of filler (music, recaps, phone dialing, etc)

Why do we Need the Drive-Thru Order?

During the site visit in the first episode, we get to hear the podcaster go to a drive-thru and order food. Why? Beats me. Maybe there's a reason for it, but I didn't get far enough to find out. I get that these podcasters like to put that personal touch on a story and show how it has affected their lives. Sometimes they include a quick few seconds of a sound bite of their day-to-day. Fine. But this whole drive-thru interlude was odd.

Season 1: Interesting topic, poorly arranged

The topic is super interesting and I became invested right away. But the episodes are so short and the first couple of minutes are recaps, plus ads, so it’s limited content. Here’s hoping the next season is a little better arranged with some longer episodes.

So short

Episodes are so short. 3 minutes of previous episode recaps and the intro, gets you about 8 minutes of content. Then a minute of what’s coming next. I’m on episode 7 and I’ve learned there was a credit card dropped, the stalker drove a black truck and the host is very proud of the name ‘route 29 stalker’. Don’t give up on doing podcasts, but there is a lot of need for improvement.

Nice try - don’t waste your time

They really tired to follow some of the more popular serial story telling/true crime podcasts. But, they didn’t get the elements in the right order. Starting the series off with a site visit has little to no value when the audience does not know even the basic details of the case, the victims, or the perpetrator. Maybe after we have a solid foundation of why thia aite was important and why the things that were pointed out by the host (and his....wife?) We’re even relevant. A few episodes in and I still don’t know the basics of the crimes, the patterns, or really why this podcast is important or why it even exists. I get that everyone wants to make it big with a true crime podcast and get dumb awards. But, dang, take your time and do it right. Would not recommend.

Had to stop after the fifth “my wife”

Could your wife possibly have a name? So archaic and dumb to keep referring to her as “my wife.” Had to stop listening.

Great potential but poorly executed.

Rounding up from 2.5 stars. Good story, high production quality, but lacks in content. As many others have mentioned...lots of fluff, long into & outros, repeated content and the fast food ordering seemed unneccesary and annoying. Prett weak to have advertisements for episodes that last less then twenty minutes

Horrible storytelling

This podcast had so much potential but it falls completely flat. It’s very obvious there was little research done beforehand and no thought put into how to tell these stories. I think this is also reflected by how short the episodes are despite the fact that they just play 100% unedited audio (ordering food in a drive thru included). It never really tells the facts of the cases, just Woody saying how excited he was that so-and-so called him or how he just has more questions. All of us have the same questions too...and this podcast will answer none of them for anybody.

Please do better next time

The host is likable and the sound quality is good. Hoping this host will take all the poor reviews to heart because this whole series probably includes 45 minutes grand total of quality information. Episodes are so short yet still so much time is wasted with recaps, followed by repeating conversations from past episodes, followed by just listening to traffic or walking or phone ringing. He should have laid the whole story out in episode 1, then dove into all the full details and shared new information learned during his research throughout the rest of the podcast. I’m rooting for this host to listen to a few other crime podcasts and then try again, not give up all together. Unfortunately, this podcast left me feeling like I still don’t know much about this story at all.

Read reviews before committing....

I should have read some reviews before I started listening. What a waste of time. I found myself at the end of an episode trying to rack my brain as to if there was a single piece of new information or if the entire episode was a recap.

Good story, but...

Lots of recapping at the beginning and preview of the next episode at the end. This leaves 10-15 minutes of the actual story, when we’re not listening to the podcaster ordering at a drive thru or on the phone listening to a company phone system recording. The whole season could have been just an hour long episode.

Couldn’t make it thru even 1 episode

Had high hopes due to the interesting subject but the first episode was a lot of empty air (you get to listen to an entire drive thru order, including dead air when what I can only assume is the employee in the window talking to the podcaster, lots of jingling keys and some highway sounds) as well as him and his wife guessing what may or may not have happened in the case. Not enough proof of research or factual information shared. Turned it off before the end of episode one.
