Revisionist History

Revisionist History

Published by: Pushkin Industries

61 Episodes | First Released: Jun 3 '16
Revisionist History is Malcolm Gladwell's journey through the overlooked and the misunderstood. Every episode re-examines something from the past—an event, a person, an idea, even a song—and asks whether we got it right the first time. From Pushkin Industries. Because sometimes the past deserves a second chance.

Disappointed

This used to be my favorite podcast. Now it’s some boring content surrounded by infomercials. When it began it felt like a passion project for Malcolm, now he sounds more passionate during the infomercials. He’s just seems to be capitalizing on his large audience for financial gain.

Just found, already love.

The only thing better than reading a Malcolm Gladwell book is listening to the information straight from his mouth. This podcast is perfection!

I used to ❤️this podcast, but now....

Too many ads. Way too many ads. The ads seem contrary to his message. I’ve read all his books, and his most recent was disappointing as well.

Disappointed

I liked the way Malcom set up his podcasts. I liked the way a lot of the episodes made you ponder. Loved the ability to have my mind opened to new ideas. But then I listened to the Boston Tea Party episode. It was so full of half truths and one sided stories that I now feel like I can’t trust his reporting. It’s really too bad. I wanted to like this podcast. However, half truths don’t uncover truth. Half truths pulse deception.

Great show...when it’s original new content

This is a great podcast to listen to when the author releases fresh, new content. However, over the last several months it’s been repeats of past shows or episodes from other podcasts. If I wanted to hear a past show I’d listen to past shows... If I wanted to listen to other podcasts I’d subscribe to those podcast... small teasers from other podcasts are great for discovering new ones, but when they become the entire show it makes me wonder why I’m subscribed to this one. Otherwise, Gladwell’s works (podcast and books/audiobooks) are great!

Well worth listening to

Mr Gladwell is, first and foremost, a gifted storyteller. For that reason alone the podcast is worthwhile. But, he also chooses great topics, asks piercing questions, and reaches challenging and iconoclastic conclusions. You don't have to agree with him (and I frequently do not) to be entertained, to be challenged and to learn. What more can we ask of a podcast ?
