What an incredible interview. I could feel Kara’s rage & hope she can get back in the faces of those 2 weak, greedy leaders Sandburg & Zuckerberg & shame them into changing the profit model. My God how much money do they need to make. They are a media company not a social network. Get some f”!king ethics.

too loose with the facts

I like the way Kara drives interviews forward and asks pesky questions, but she is too willing to forgo the truth in order to feed her readers’ anger and get the best inflammatory clickbait titles and headlines. Many examples... she says companies "sell your data" even in case where it isn’t true - smearing all equally and obscuring important distinctions. In the AnchorFree episode we heard that your e-mails and passwords are transmitted in plain text - Kara knows that isn’t true and didn’t interject. And the worst recent example is the Google+ vulnerability that Recode pretended was a hack and data-breach (if they think Google is lying then they should tell us, but I haven’t heard that suggested). Their dishonest presentation of these things undermines our case against these companies, does a disservice to the listeners, and suggests a lack of integrity.

Smart, interesting pod

I like Kara Swisher, this is a smart podcast with interesting guests and ideas. I’d rate it a 5/5 if Kara Swisher stopped hurrying her guests along with all the uh-huh-ing and if she stopped trying to display how “in the know” she is to her guests/listeners. We get it, you’re very intelligent, that’s why we’re listening in the first place.

Please stop finishing people’s sentences

I doubt Kara will read this review but who ever is managing this product for her please listen. Tell your boss to:1/ stop finishing people’s sentences2/ improperly quoting people and inserting that into questions to get people to respond to them that are controversial. It’s lverbal click bait. 3/ Politicizing different points of view and constantly bringing your own into the question. It’s very clear her personal views on everything. NOT always necessary. Great content ... so must ... keep ... listening. Grrr.

Let the experts speak

It's really a shame...Kara has taken an incredible podcast and interview opportunities and completely ruined it. I listened to one podcast and desperately wish I could mute half the show. Recode has earned an invaluable portion of technology media real estate and I was really hoping to enjoy this show but she is overly condescending, tries too hard to be a know it all, and consistently interrupts the guest ruining any flow to the show. Please just shut up!

Great guests but too many interruptions making it annoying!

I still listen to the show, five stars for great guests in tech but negative points for Kara’s interview style (I think some entry level journalist can possibly do better with respect and listening skills). Yes she is known for challenging guests but there is a difference between no BS and not respecting guests!1. Too many interruptions now makes me feel embarrassed for the guests. For example, in the Dara K interview in the recent Code Conference, Kara at least interrupted Dara 5 times before he finished the full sentence. Dara was talking about Uber’s direction and strategy, and all of a sudden Kara asked “Do you still consult him (Travis)”, then the whole flow changed. What’s the point of that question? Why not letting the guest finish and asking good following up questions on Uber strategy? Don’t ask the question for the sake of your own curiosity. 2. Because the show doesn’t focus on follow up questions, it stays on the suffice of the topics. For example, diversity / inclusion is a big topic, but there hasn’t been a deep dived discussion around it. The interview strategy has always been (1) interviewer background (2) company strategy (3) tech issues / white men culture (4) privacy issues (5) trump. Over and over again.

Good but not great

While this podcast has excellent guests, is produced well and dives into a range of timely and relevant issues, I find host Kara Swisher a weak spot. She interrupts often, many times cutting guests off as they're about to complete a great thought. Sometimes a guest introduces a fantastic outline of ideas, and she fails to draw the details out, or say "we'll get to that", but never does. Some basic radio host discipline would help this show.

Very poor interviewer.

Ok poor is exaggeration, it's more like average. The problem is more to do with all the self promotion and pretentious vibe.

Interruptions

She interrupts too much. Seems like she really enjoys hearing herself talk. Should just sit in front of a mirror instead of hosting live human beings. Very frustrating to listen to.

Had to unsubscribe...

Promising, but ultimately painful. I have to agree with the many other reviewers about the never-ending interrupting. Kara has a knack for not only interrupting every. single. answer. to her questions, but also usually doing it *just* as they're 75% of the way done with what is *clearly* the final sentence of their answer (evident by the cadence of their voice and the content of the sentence). It becomes almost like ancient water torture because you start anticipating it...you know it's coming...because it happens *every* time. Kara I'm begging you, why can you not just wait another two beats until they're done with that final sentence? It would make this show much, much more listenable. We listeners are actually interested in what the subjects were going to say, even if the interviewer apparently isn't...that's why we're listening in the first place..

Excellent

Kara’s interviewing style threw me at first but I’ve since come around. She’s very much at ease with herself and the intense and vast subject matter. Her guests are mostly fascinating but often they’re carrying a bit of self-serving hype and revisionist history stuff to the interview. Kara has a cool talent for cutting through the bs and ego and getting to the ideas. She’s also really funny. <3<3<3 Re/code.
