Punctual Podcast for a Blossoming City
The hosts represent two different and equally important experienced perspectives of Raleigh: Patrick (Shanahan) being an inheritor of the Old Raleigh and Bearta (Al-Chacar) being a newcomer to it, who both-- as artists and business owners-- became movers & shakers of the New (which if you're from the area you know there's a markéd difference between the two, though the line is hard to draw [which is something they touch on]). The podcast makes me think of a line from Lemony Snicket: "Life is a conundrum of esoterica"; meaning it's complicated-- with much specialized knowledge that's interconnected and disconnected. This podcast really helps one sort out the beautiful esoterica that's led to Raleigh's transformative success, from high-powered business owners to architects to street musicians: born and traveled inheritors all giving their time and care to create what we enjoy-- or don't-- and report on their personal How's & Why's. I can only imagine it's a worthwhile perspective...especially for my fellow Raleighnesians.
