Love the show!

Great range of topics and guests and I love the way the corny scientist jokes add to show.

Solitary confinement

My husband has been locked in solitary confinement(for his safety) for over half of a year and this show is what gets him through without his brain turning to mush. I’ve recently started listening so we have more to discus during his 20 minutes per day out of his cell. I’m loving the program. 😊

Spinning to the outer left!

Don’t get me wrong... I love listening to this podcast! It’s entertaining and has a high production value... as do most things CBC. That being said... as all things CBC... government funded media as never reported much anything on an even playing field. Get ready for for some amazing stories as science and Trudeau leftism collide... this podcast will leave you questioning nothing; so long as you never question anything. 🤣😋👍

Diverse and personable Science

Bob McDonald is an icon of science communication. The topics he and his producers tackle are wide-ranging as are the scientists he interviews. And, Bob is personable and real in the prescient questions he asks and the clear summaries he provides to what can be difficult-to-understand concepts. Brilliant! Thank you CBC!

Generally good, but biased.

I find that the claims of Climate Change are often presented by people who are not full scientists. I hear stories of grad students here making assertions that have not been proven in peer reviewed literature presented as if it is valid with an underlay of panic because time appears to be running out. Most stories presented are balanced reporting, just the climate stories appear to be all about coming disasters with nomention made of what is also happening - storm intensities are not increasing according to the NOAA along with tornadoes declining in occurrence or holding steady. Why do you not present information about how sea level rise varies depending on the underlying geology? Rebound from the last ice age means BC’s coast is unlikely to loose ground to the 3mm/year average increase worldwide as the rebound is almost the same.

love this show, except....

This is a terrific science podcast! However, I have difficulty listening to the whole episode because of the way the microphones are set up: there are enough lip-smaicking sounds to drive me crazy! If this could be fixed I would be a much happer listener.

Great show Great host

One of the best interviewers around. He asks the basic questions to unravel some complex science and when needed he is able to summarize with clarity. Always interesting!

Great podcasts but

Please don’t talk about the President. Thursday’s episode was a let down. You have done a great job of making a very informative podcast without mentioning the President’s health. I feel that this episode was a step in the wrong direction. If your mission is to inform, then you just missed the mark. The lady you had on was very unprofessional in calling for an examination of the Presidents mental health.

The Best

One of the standout features of this show is the effort they take to talk to the actual scientists doing thr work being reported on.
