Addiction is everywhere

I’ve truly enjoyed listening to these podcasts. I’m currently married to my high school sweetheart that after high school went downhill as we went our separate ways. After 14 years we reunited. He had only been clean for a year. Now he just celebrated his 11 years clean. Keep doing what your doing Casey. Sobriety is great!!

Casey and Matt understand

It is the way Casey and Matt explain thoughts events and attitudes that make this show stand out. Casey gets what is really important in life and expresses himself in a way that makes sense and also touches the heart. The show works because he is real. Though I have no real addictions this is my favorite podcast.

Courageous

The podcast with Emily Smith touched me deeply. What a courageous woman to share her story so soon after her husbands death. Her unconditional love for Brian was evident and she was also honest about the difficult journey. Casey and Matt treated her with respect and compassion.

Thank you!

This last episode with Emily Smith was so raw and filled with such emotion from both Emily and Casey. I cannot begin to express my gratitude in the bravery you showed in telling your story. May you be blessed for your courage!

Grateful

This podcast was a godsend for me. I am so grateful to Casey for sharing his story and starting a dialogue with this. I am thankful for Dr. Matt and his willingness to share his expertise and knowledge. Addiction is something that robs a person (and those around them!) from so much of the good in life. And it is hard to have hope that it can be overcome. I have a loved one struggling with addiction and have been dealing with the repercussions of his situation for quite some time. This podcast has given me hope and understanding. Thank you, thank you. And please keep up the good work! Know you have at least made a difference in my life!

Loved hearing about this man’s journey.

Someday I hope you can do a podcast about people who have a serious genetic mental illness and all the different things they try to do to help with the tremendous suffering they deal with. From drinking to drugs to multiple suicide attempts to being put into several facilities only to be let out way to early cause insurance only pays for so many days. Four months ago my son was finally successful in his search for relief from all the pain and anxiety and depression and demons he kept telling me about in his head. I came home from work only to find out he had hung himself in his bedroom knowing full well that I would be the one who would find him. My wish is that somehow there was a way to talk to those who are contemplating suicide to spend time with those who are left behind. I know it is naive of me to think that if they knew what it was going to be like for the moms and dads and kids who are the ones who find them, would or could they maybe step out of their heads for even a moment to feel what I have felt for the last four months and will feel for the rest of my life maybe they would try to get help instead of the other choice. I know your podcasts are about addiction and drug abuse but and I followed Casey for many years, but addictions can lead to suicide and I think that is something I wish you could talk about. I’m sorry this is so long but it is the only thing I am passionate about.

Love this!

Finally, a candid, transparent conversations that I relate to as I’ve dealt with addiction, eating disorders (before I was 12j and before anorexia had a name which led to depression and anxiety. Mental illness is real and genetic and needs to be talked about. A family member just committed suicide and this has helped me cope. I chose to be the last generation that doesn’t talk to my kids about this. Keep the conversation going!

I was really inspired with this podcast. It was raw but it wasn’t over-the-top. It was geared towards young adults. Let’s stop it it’s at the beginning. Thank you Kaycee

My Friend that I don’t know

Casey. I have spent many years with you, hearing you and feeling like you were a part of my life although we have never met. Thank you for being there for me for years in the radio when I was driving to work. I had no idea that this happened to you. I just knew that you weren’t around anymore. I am grateful to hear about this podcast and see how you are doing. I love this podcast. Thanks for helping us all learn that we are all human and life is about learning how to overcome and get back to peace. Thanks my friend.
