Wonky in the best sense

If you want to drop in on a conversations featuring people who care deeply about theology, leadership, servanthood, the gospel, and church culture (not just Episcopalian), subscribe to this podcast! But really, what I want to know is, does Colin still play the bass guitar, and if so, let’s hear some licks on the next episode!

Oh, this is good!

So grateful for an awesome place (audibly our course) to gather and hear about what else is happening within the greater church! Being in rural Tennessee - we often have a very different view of the church, often a more limited view - sadly. I serve on the Vestry of my local parish and hope to bring more innovation to my community with the things I continue to learn here! 🤘🏼🤯

So engaging!

My husband and I are Episcopalians but also church musicians in another denomination. This podcast is a wonderful resource for helping keep current with my beloved Episcopal Church. Keep up the great work!

Failure is Success

This interview with Rev. Lorenzo Lebrija was amazing! I listen to Priest Pulse all the time & this one was tops. The exciting new ideas being worked on at TryTank are cutting edge. I'm anxious to hear more about them as they progress. i’m especially interested in the Digital Collection Plate, Connected Congregations, Interactive Sunday, we'll, all of them!!!I listen to your podcasts while I walk in the mornings, this one had me so excited I finished 5 minutes early!!! 👍😎 Thanks Ben & Collin, another home run! Hope in a podcast

I love this podcast. It’s about life, Truth, the world and how to be in it. It’s about the Episcopal Church I love being led into the future by amazing human beings who produce and are guests on these shows. It’s about the love that is stronger than death. It’s about church on Sunday and what we love about that and how we carry that into our Monday-Saturday and what that means for all kinds of interesting people. It’s often also about books and movies and video games and parenting. It’s about being imperfect and knowing we are loved anyway. To say there is something for everyone sounds trite, but I think most people could listen to it and find something that speaks to them or feels like home for them even if - maybe especially if - church hasn’t felt that way. Thank you Ben and Colin and all your vibrant guests.

Love this

Even though I go to a Methodist church, this podcast connects me to my church heritage of the church of England. I think I secretly want to be Anglican /episcopal!

Really enjoyable

This is a loose, relaxed conversation by two interesting young priests with interesting Episcopalians I wouldn't run into otherwise. By listenning to people I wouldn't ordinarily listen to I learn things I wouldn't ordinarily learn. I enjoy this look into my denomination by people who are not fighting the denomination. Keep up the good work!

Priest Pulse Review 2.0

I began listening to Priest Pulse in February 2017. At the time, I had decided to explore discernment of ordination to the priesthood and had decided to search iTunes for Episcopal-based podcasts. As God would have it, I found Priest Pulse. During the pilot episode, Fr. Ben has an easy-going way of discussing the job of priests, and during the second episode, he and Fr. Colin continue that approachable style when they discuss whether to attend seminary—two topics directly pertinent to my discernment. Since then, I have listened to several episodes. In each episode, I have enjoyed getting to know Ben, Colin, Lizzie, and the music of Awaking Mercury. Together, we have explored current topics in the Episcopal Church and topics relevant to me in particular. For example, in “Always Selfing” (season 2, episode 13), I learned my enneagram is a 1 like Colin (perfectionist), and I was convicted to provide this feedback because Ben (as a 2) needs to receive feedback to feel loved. To that end, here’s some more love. Thank you for caring about your listeners enough to host this podcast in a transparent way, to have honest and open conversations, to read reviews on the air, and to pray for my discernment process on the air. I pray the listener community will be able to benefit from many more seasons of Priest Pulse. May God continue to bless and to keep Ben, Colin, and all those involved with Priest Pulse as you minister within God's Kingdom. Amen

Relevant and Real

I have been an avid listnen of PP for about 6 months. I have found the discussions and interviews are deep, complex and real. Fr Ben and Fr Colin are great hosts and their interview style are bit too millenial at times for this Gen X listener but I applaud the fresh way to explore spirituality that is not only relevant to our times but is delivered in a way that is real. A great resouce for clergy and The Episcopal Church but also for thinking disciples of Jesus everywhere.
