All communities face certain challenges. But some people see challenges as opportunities. On Placemakers, we bring you stories about the spaces we inhabit and the people who shape them. Join us as we criss-cross the country, introducing you to real people in real communities — people who make a difference in how we travel, work, and live. You’ll never look at your community the same way again.

GREAT SHOW!

Love that this show spans beyond topics on gentrification, etc. Show does a really great job of intersexting various other topics and how they relate to our cities and towns we live in. Listen to this while doing homework. Always leaves me thinking about the world & my neighborhood in a different way.

Great for urban studies buffs

This podcast series is well produced. The stories are interesting, human and honest. If you like stories about urban spaces and urban planning, I haven't found a better podcast. If you like good story telling period, this is for you. My only complaint? I've listened to all of them and don't know when they'll be adding more!

Solid armchair urbanism

As a urbanism fan that doesn't work in the industry, this is brain candy. Extremely accessible- in fact, one of my only wishes is that they would tackle subjects with a little more depth. Good stuff nonetheless.

Keep at it!

I really appreciate the story telling and the variety of people and places. Creating thriving, vibrant neighborhoods and communities is hard work, requires policy change, and the vision to move beyond the status quo. Placemakers is really helpful for many of us in this field. Keep it up!

People Making a Difference

This is a really great podcast. Hosted by public radio legend Rebecca Sheir (Metro Connection forever!), this show tells great stories about people who have helped better their communities, sometimes in very unique and unorthodox ways. The stories and people are inspiring and in some cases give excellent case studies for potential solutions to problems that communities all across the country are facing.
