Wonderful supplement to my spiritual practice

I love this podcast, although it is not traditional, it’s a great second way to learn the Biblical texts. At the same time it’s a window into the thoughts and beliefs of young Jews, which is surprisingly diverse. And it’s encouraging to learn about support available to folks who leave Orthodox sects. Thanks for keeping me laughing and engaged! I can’t wait for the book!

Amazing

I have been telling people all about this podcast. I LOVE it!! If you don't mind irreverence about the Torah, then it will give you a great deal of entertainment and a new perspective on Torah portions. Can't reccommend it enough. He really make reading the Torah so much fun and I hope that he finishes the entire Tanak AND puts it book form because I will keep it on my shelf.

Hilarious and informative

This podcast is absolutely not for everyone, but as a recent convert to Judaism, I learn a heck of a lot from this irreverent but factually correct show.

Love This

I love parsha study. This is done somewhat irreverently but with a great deal of serious scholarship. Listening is therefore useful AND fun. I sure hope David manages to finish the Torah translation and maybe even get to the rest of the Tanach.

Chhilarious

I regularly listen to this podcast along with the podcast Reading the Bible with Dan. I have an endless appetite for criticism of religion, apparently. OMGWTFBIBLE is very enjoyable to listen to. The Hebrew to English Torah translations are interesting. The commentary is clever and funny. I hope to attend a live taping soon.

Totes amazeballs podcast

I love this series from a Jewish vantage point, a skeptical vantage point and a linguistic vantage point. Every episode is not only a fun comedy experience but an exploration of the nuts and bolts of the translation from Hebrew to English … plus loads and loads of special guests. It’s irresistible.

Who Said the Bible Couldn't Be Funny?

Who said the bible had to be taken seriously? Not David Tuchman! The appropriately titled OMGWTFBible is a new translation of the Jewish Torah. Every week, David takes a weekly portion (parasha) and has a special guest read it. And David sporadically interjects with commentary, jokes, and the occasional kibitz. If you are easily offended by sacrilege, this is not the podcast for you. For the rest of you, what the f--- are you waiting for? Check it out!

Best Bible Translation - Ever

David Tuchman is translating the Hebrew Bible, having talented guests read his translations while he provides a running commentary. Because he grew up modern orthodox, he is able to both provide traditional commentary and his contemporary views. Tuchman skewers literal approaches with his insights concerning textual errors, contradictions, and biblical narrative. The sad truth is that most people who claim to be religious have never really read the Bible. This is both a fun and educational podcast that shows the Bible for what it is, an important religious text that is also deeply flawed.
