Insight, Passion, and Laughs

If you’re reading this review, the short version is: this podcast is fantastic and you should check it out if you’re even slightly interested in it.Now here’s the longer, more personal review for those wanting more info:Like many others, I was first introduced to this podcast from Ed’s appearances on Screen Junkies. I’ve held off doing a review for awhile because I wanted to listen to almost every episode in order to provide some different insight in my review. It’s been fascinating working through the catalog of nerd goat pods and seeing just how much it’s evolved over the past 3 years. Things like how the intro developed, hearing about a Patreon being in the works to now hearing it plugged before each episode, onedarntshirt.com (R.I.P.), and how the show got elevated by the inclusion of Producer Bill. Some of hilarious quotes from the show are “that is a biopic for yo ASS” from Ed on The Monkees episode, and “I used to camp a lot, or as I like to call it, being homeless” from Ron on the Tarzan episode. Also, listening to some of the earlier “echo chamber” pods have prepared me for some of the lacking quarantine Audio with the current episodes. This podcast has become better and better with each episode and it’s now part of my daily routine. For the first time ever, I utilized my phone’s podcast app so I can have easy access to this podcast. Also another first for me is that finally, after hearing the many... many plugs for their Patreon, I am now a proud $7 tier member of Nerd Goat Patreon. I’m looking forward to diving into another catalog of exclusive pods, especially Producer Bill’s extended Superman talk. Keep up the great work guys! You have another dedicated fan in your ranks. Also I was wondering about a couple things. Back when the pod was building up, you said when you hit 50 reviews you’d do a people’s choice G.O.A.T. I’m not aware if you ended up doing that or not? Also, after the many episodes that he was mentioned in, I’m surprised you guys haven’t done a BLADE G.O.A.T. Episode. Take care guys! Stay safe, and to those still reading this review GO LISTEN TO THE PODCAST!

Podcast G.O.A.T

This absolutely my favorite podcast. I look forward to it every Monday morning. Digging deep into the psychology of these characters, their creators, the guests and the hosts is always enjoyable. The hosts (and producer) have such a natural style that I often forget I’m not just chatting with friends and I try to jump into the conversation. Keep up the great work!!!

“The more words you know, the more feelings you can feel.” - Ed Greer

If prospective listeners actually read these, please note...1. This is a FANTASIC Podcast where somebody comes in and talks with 3 hosts about their favorite fictional characters from Comic Books, Book Books, Movies, TV Shows, Videogames, and so on... Please listen to it. Even characters that you don’t like, or don’t know, still make VERY fun topics, often even better than episodes on greater known and loved characters... And Watch ‘Reboot It’ on a video tube service made for you. Same Guys, just as Great.2. I am writing this review TO the creators, addressing them directly, hoping to be read on-show. Please feel free to read if you like.I became a really big fan of Ed Greer from his guest spots on online movie shows. Honestly, as someone who doesn’t Sport or watch Sportsing, I wasn’t familiar with the Acronym GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), and I don’t THINK Ed explained that in his initial promotion of the Nerd GOAT Podcast.Eventually it was explained, I subscribed, and I have been hooked ever since. Ed, Ron, and Bill, you have perfect Chemistry. My absolute favorite moments are when all three of you are on the show w equal time/presence. Once Producer Bill came on board, and became a third host more or less, you hit a new plateau. I think that’s the only reason ‘Reboot It’ tops Nerd GOAT for me, is that the three of you are always in every episode (with the WONDERFUL Billy Business, of course) equally. Now that I am caught up on all the free eps, I am ecstatic to say I am now a proud Patreon Subscriber, and writing this as fast as I can so I get jump in to those BONUS EPISODES! I feel like I could go on and on, so I will end saying Thank You Bill, Thank You Ron, Thank You Ed, for making my favorite podcast and favorite online show.PS - If you know anyone who watches them, I highly recommend doing an Episode/Bonus Episode on Steven Universe. It takes a few episodes to realize it, but it is a Deep, Intricate, Subversive, Mind Expanding show about learning the feelings you feel, why you feel them, and how to deal with them, in 11 minutes an episode. It is in my top 3 favorite/best shows ever, along with Game of Thrones, and Star Trek The Next Generation, because it is on THAT level...

Greatest Podcast of All Time?

Ed and Ron discuss the geekiest of topics with a special guest. It is fun to explore characters both loved and lesser recognized and often these episodes get me wanting to revisit the topic (I really want to sit down and re-read the Planetary after one recent episode. Ed and Ron are funny and insightful, making this a terrific podcast.

A great show

It’s so wonderful to hear people who are passionate about things they love. The hosts Ed, Ron and producer Bill truly love talking about these subjects, and hearing guests talk about how these characters change their lives is inspiring. I hope you guys get to make this show forever.

My #1 Go-To Podcast

Long-time listener, first time writer. Actually, this is my vey first iTunes review! Ed, Ron, and Bill are the best, and I look forward to this show each and every Monday. This is the first thing I put on during my commute at the start of the week and it’s the first podcast I recommend to friends who are looking for new stuff to listen to. Try this one out, even if you’re not familiar with the character of the week — it’s always worth it!

Nerd GOAD, more like Smerd Smoat, (or a series of writing prompts.)

After being introduced to Ed & Ron through This Is Rad! I was v excited to see they decided to start a podcast together. The show has really evolved to become a force of its own since I started listening. I love that the show has evolved from the classic nerdy pick-your-champion trial by combat to a real creative exercise, fun conversation, and informative deep dives that has piqued my interest in several characters I never really thought about before. This podcast is one I go to when I need to think about fun stuff, and want to kickstart my creativity on stale & depressing days.

Big fan of the show. I don’t expect to win the review-off but I can help someone else get that much closer to claiming their prize. That said, if there’s some extra content just lying around, it’s welcome to take a stroll through my iTunes neighborhood.

Had a question, figured I’d leave it in a review

I’ve left a review here before but I just wanted to reassure any new listeners it keeps getting better! My question: Sometime in the future can there be a paytreon where you guys discuss how the characters in the DC universe would behave in an office setting? As soon as I thought of the idea I knew you guys (including Bill) would be the perfect ones to tackle it with your comedic personalities and intelligence of the little details in the characters. I imagine Batman as a Michael Scott-type manager among the other heroes (suit and tie with mask on)

Thank you

Hello 🌺 I hope this finds you all well. This past weekend I worked 40 straight hours clearing out my late mother’s house. It was a deeply intense experience on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. I binged every one of your Nerd GOAT episodes and your Reboot It episodes whilst unpacking, discovering family history over four generations, repacking, & cetera. Thank you for your imaginations. Thank you for your humour. Thank you for making a difficult process easier for me. I love hearing what Ed and Billy B have to say on SJU and that show is what brought me here. Thanks again.
