Great geek crossover, funny, God-mode DM
This podcast is a great intro to D&D for any Pokémon fan. The DM is *amazing*, the role play is generally really funny, and you don't need to know anything about D&D to follow and enjoy it. 4 stars because after listening to the first season, there were a few things that were distracting/made me wanna fast forward. The audio cutting in an out is totally understandable as it's live, but I wish there could be some kind of footnote at the end clarifying the garbled parts- sometimes you actually miss info, like I still have no idea what Wendy's 'Pokémon profanity' was supposed to be! The other thing is maybe personal preference, but while Wendy and Stant's characters definitely deepened and became more interesting as the story went on, SBJ sort of came off as lazy or bored in the roleplay. Some parts were hilarious, and I appreciate that it's a more light-hearted podcast- but I think it would've been much more interesting to listen to if he switched between total joke and semi serious instead of playing so one dimensionally. Like... I didn't listen to 14 hours of this story to hear you lay on the floor and sit out a whole battle lolAll in all a well done podcast and an awesome listen with laugh out loud moments. I'm psyched to listen to Season 2.
